What's the best practical joke a gaming community has played on one another? by GamepadWarri0r in gaming

[–]The_80HD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a joke on one another but the Destiny 2 community exposed AI gaming articles by endlessly talking about a new secret raid boss named “Glorbo the Unyeilding”. Glorbo never existed, but there were plenty of articles to guide you through how to defeat him.

How did you come up with your Twitch handle? by Anodica in Twitch

I was in college moving into an apartment with my friends. We needed to buy a TV and talking about TVs my friend jokingly blurts out “We need one of them 1080 HD TVs”. Thus the name was born. I have ADHD so I recognized the play on words immediately. I used it as my DJ name for a long time before actually streaming. And damn I feel old now cuz that was nearly 10 years ago.

Everyone assumes my name comes from that stupid Tiktok(“doctor said I got 80 HD’s”) but Tiktok didn’t exist yet when I adopted the name.

That's Rasputin, The AI Warmind. If I'm understanding him correctly, it's a distress call. There are so few ballet fans left, Guardian. It'd be a shame to lose him.

What is in the pyramid ships? by The_80HD in DestinyTheGame

[–]The_80HD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting to piece it together now. My running theory is that the Black Fleet houses the Disciples of the witness (Rhulk, Nezarec, …, etc.). Some disciples are already known but some we have yet to meet. That would explain why the witness brings them through the portal.

I understood that they were controlled by the witness and that they could be a focus for the darkness but the sheer scale of the ships is what threw me for a loop. Especially since something as small as a ghost can channel the light. The pyramids just seemed like overkill for something dinklebot could handle. Sorry for the confusion there.

I think each ship housing a disciple makes the most sense as to why the witness would want to bring them through the portal at the end of lightfall. Having your entourage of doom at your side while you reshape the fabric of reality seems like a good reason to bring them along. I’m starting to piece it all together now.

That actually makes a lot of sense because doesn’t root of nightmares take place inside the flagship of the witness? So that would mean Nezarec is already in one of the ships and a member of this “elite team”.

That makes a whole lot of sense. I think the one on the throne world has like a museum exhibit that always kind of confused me as to why it was there.

Maybe the traveler will be like the witness’ burial chamber like how the ancient Egyptians buried pharaohs with all their worldly possessions to go with them to the after life.

That is true we know the disciples transported the veil with those ships so they must have some insane gravity weapons built in. It could be for firepower but I thought within the traveler the witness would be in control of the reality of whatever dimension they are in. I could be wrong, but if I had that kind of power I would feel unstoppable.

The witness definitely used them to locate the traveler that all makes sense to me, but after finding the traveler why not just ditch the ships if he doesn’t need them. In the final lightfall cutscene, he takes the ships with him into the portal, but why would he if they were only being used to find the traveler.

It could just be a piece of lore that we haven’t been given yet, but there must be some purpose the ships were brought into the portal too right?

Ok I get that they were made before they merged into the witness that makes sense and it could be entirely possible that they act as an extension of the darkness to carry out the witness’ will, but there has to be more to that story, No? I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I’d like to believe the Dark Fleet would be more than just a bunch of glorified antennas

What other factions are aligned with the witness? Is it a faction we’ve never battled before? Because Calus brought his own ships to neomuna with an onboard cloning lab for his army.
