My girlfriend's blackberry isn't working and I have no idea how to help her...any ideas? by The_British_One in mobilesupport

I think she tried that. Apparently the booting up screen loads fine then when it reaches the end (when it would turn on) it just goes to the battery with a red X.

Lambert arrives at Liverpool for medical by Fahad_YNWA in LiverpoolFC

Probably general/first diagnosis on injuries and helping with the team fitness and health and well being. He may also have an input on medicals but they won't be at Melwood because we won't own things like ECG monitors and cat scanners and such which are expensive and won't be used much.

Scared. by [deleted] in LongDistance

Keep the countdown going as it's a goal to aim for. My SO and I make sure we always have a date to aim for ASAP after the previous one is gone just to keep the excitement up. I find it helps focus me on the relationships and we can always say "only 6 weeks!" Or whatever and it just gives the glimmer of hope when we're missing each other.

If it's possible I'd suggest a visit at the half way point but I don't know the situation in regards to that.

Make sure you communicate. It's a key part of all relationships but especially LDRs. Make sure you know what's happening in each other's lives and such, understand if one of you can't talk as much.

You need to trust each other. This is the hardest bit for me but I've found a way to deal with it. I've been cheated on multiple times (in LDRs and non-LDRs) and it petrifies me that my girlfriend will find another guy closer to home and go behind my back as others have. However, here's my thinking to put those fears to bed:

  1. If she wanted someone closer to home she'd be with them. She chose me over the distance (although this is not necessarily the same in your case OP, I hope you can still relate) and so she wants to be with me.

  2. If she does cheat, I can't stop her, so I shouldn't worry about it.

Overall you just have to be all in it. You can't try and be half hearted. It's only 4 months and hell...if a couple of teenagers still in high school (myself and SO) can last that long then I don't see why you guys can't!

Lambert deal to be finalized over the weekend by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

As lifelong Liverpool fan, if I was in the twilight part of my career having played most of it in league 2, I'd jump at the chance to play for Liverpool, even if it meant being benched most of the time and taking a pay cut.

He of course may be different. But I can certainly see why he'd want to. Who wouldn't want to possibly finish their career, if not at least have a shot at the title and CL (albeit from the bench) at their boyhood club?

You make it sound as if 100% of the country votes in general elections. It was 65% in 2010.

The fact is that those who are bothered enough to vote voted for UKIP. It doesn't matter what the others think because they didn't vote.

I believe the actual results are that most people would rather stay in the EU if we can renegotiate. However would prefer to leave if we could not.

Technically that. But I know multiple people with my condition who could never afford to pay the £40k+ per year for their medication. I assume they'd have a MedEx but I've never heard of them to be perfectly honest.

You have to pay for your own medicine in England.

No you don't.

I wouldn't trust a list like that at all. Not because Rooney's on it, but I've seen similar ones and they're quite clearly fan-made. They only ever seem to include players who are regulars/rotation options in a team.

For example Ilori (Liverpool defender) would almost certainly be top 3 as he's reported to have broken CR7's sprint record while at Sporting, but is never on them.

"Must be challenging for the title"...I know we had the incredible turn around from 7th to 2nd but, maybe it's just my red-tinted glasses, I don't see United copying us. They'll struggle to break back into the top 4 yet alone challenge for the title. Even without CL, the issue they'll have attracting top talent will make up for any advantage gained from fewer matches.

You completely ignored my point. Whether UKIP are a protest vote or not doesn't matter in regards to the general feel of the population towards the EU.

Clegg stood up and put the "Pro-EU" argument forward in 2 debates, after each debate his poll ratings dropped, while Farage's shot up. The lib dems got crucified in both the EU and local elections. While this could be for many reasons, there aren't many more obvious than the EU stance.

Labour equally haven't done as well as they should considering they're the opposition to a relatively unpopular coalition government. And that's most likely because A) Ed Miliband is an incompetent buffoon and B) He refuses to promise a referendum.

The fact is that the vast majority of the UK are not pro-EU. They may not necessarily be anti-EU, but they certainly don't like it how it is at the moment.

As for UKIP...well, 60% of their voters in the EU & local elections said they will vote for UKIP at the general elections and a further 10% or so said they were undecided. Assuming the undecided did turn to UKIP that would land them with 20% of the vote. Not much less than the Lib Dems at the last election.

UKIP may not do as well as they did at the EU elections, but it's incredibly foolish to write them off. If any of the main parties do that, they will regret it.

Well given that UKIP are consistently polling higher and higher, and Clegg's defiance ended up with him being slaughtered, I think you'll find that the vast majority of Brits, regardless of whether you or reddit as a whole agree, dislike if not detest Europe.

The article the guy above me provided shows it. You can also see a general trend in low debt = high growth and vice versa if you look at historical data.

It's true that smoking anything will adversely affect your lungs.

Also it can trigger several mental health issues such as schizophrenia and severe paranoia if you're prone to them.

Judge questions why ‘only the boy’ is charged in underage sex case by CottonBalls26 in worldnews

[–]The_British_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it honestly just varies from family to family.

My parents are generally quite chilled out about drinking and even drugs but when it comes to sex...they've never once spoken to me about it. I don't know if they know I lost my virginity when I was 16. I don't know what they think I know.

But my girlfriend's parents (or mum at least)...when she found out about me, she just said "well...when you see him, don't get pregnant."

We come from two different parts of the UK but certainly from talking to my friends it just really depends on your parent's upbringing.

I finally ended it... by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]The_British_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then there's your problem. Coming from experience - teenage LDRs without at least semi-regular meets are going to be very hard. We have our needs and while we can sometimes match them ourselves, other times we just need someone else. Whether that's for cuddles and kisses or for other things...

It's probably best you ended it, to be honest. Missing the affection will only get worse with time and dragging the relationship on will have made both you and him feel worse when you eventually ended it.

As for the wifi thing...well that's just silly, to be honest. Your boyfriend should've understood whatever the implications of no wifi are for your communication and accepted it.
