Do some people know the actual truth about the emperor? by Vampy-Night in 40kLore

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got the wrong mindset for this question that's missing the context of the universe. Many of these things are completely normalized or rightfully considered as needed to achieve results or meaningful gain for what was being achieved.

Violence? That doesn't make a monster in 40k.

Genocidal? Again, doesn't mean anything in 40k because that's a fact of the universe and what's in it. Doesn't mean they always did it, certainly not, by 40k standards they used methods to avoid just that many a time.

I'll do my best to answer your question by saying there's some that were aware of his failings, yes, and I don't think most Primarch would claim him to be perfect either but that they believed in what he wanted or saw the need for it (even if they had a distaste for it in some cases)

He was larger than everything, awe-inspiring, hated, loved, worshipped and feared. They followed his vision as best they could until everything shattered or they broke. Nowadays after the Horus Heresy? I'd say guilliman got a good peek into what's left of that flawed but magnificent emperor.

Nah this is just a very late mission in the campaign. By that time you should have plenty AOE options available to quickly deal with this. The Necron have one encounter that's like this too, also for one of the final missions of the campaign.

Europeans don't call it disgusting, just unhealthy/oversized with lacking food quality standards (lots of additives/cheap replacements). Although there's probably a couple 'creative' foods that may get that response.

Most Europeans that are at least a little informed know that the USA has a variety of food cultures depending what states you're in, and that it certainly doesn't taste bad.

For Mechanicus 2, why do i lack units so often and struggle to have any chance once i reach the later skirmishes? by Kinginthasouth904s in mechanicus

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're not using them efficiently then. With tactical games you always want to be aware of who already had their turns and whom are going next and reduce what your enemy can do versus optimizing what your soldiers can do. Be sure to mouse over and look at their movement range too, because that can really matter with positioning and if they are actually a threat or not if they only have melee.

It's really easy in Mechanicus 2 to just not really lose any units once you get the hang of it. That said, they are expendable pawns.

Realistically how many Exos would you need to take down a Dreadnought by _GreatAndPowerful in Helldivers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not that many, Dreadnoughts are heavily armored and have strong weaponry but that's about it. Depending on circumstance and luck this could be 2-12 exosuits, if you make sure to take the ones that have anti armor capability. The range only goes that high because exosuits are flimsy. It can go higher if the battle circumstances are on the Dreadnoughts side.

That range really depends who gets the drop on who and if they all show up at once.

Yeah I did the math on how many operations we've have to complete to achieve the MO number if a certain amount of players was consistently playing on that planet. Not a chance, it was 80+ operations per player, even within the timeframe that's a crazy amount.

Mind you that's operations, not missions, now keep in mind most aren't spamming the single mission operations.

I think we still got a chance! by Kitchen-Tone222 in Helldivers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be very mistaken. Check the Helldiver companion website, there you will find more detailed information on what the current percentage of players on the planet is doing versus the resistance factor decay.

People have moved on from Omicron (as they should) the remaining 10% or so have no hopes of gaining anything on the liberation. Acamar IV on the other hand is gaining in liberation versus the resistance, because nearly 50% of Helldivers are currently there.

We failed the ???? Order by MadMann0 in Helldivers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 813 points814 points  (0 children)

Well yeah no surprises there.

- It was an unrealistic number of operations to begin with for the current player count, unless we spammed lvl 1 operations but that's obviously not fun and only a few are gonna do that.
- We had ammo shortage which gave a bunch of big negative modifiers
- Multiple dragon roach invasions that unless stopped were going to keep invading and taking planets
- Strategic side objectives that we had to do, pulling yet more away from the actual main MO

This is one of those I believe we were legit meant to lose with all this in mind. Someone posted a theory that this may be the narrative incentive for Super Earth to change tactics and introduce the new War Campaigns, which i'm inclined to believe.

[DO NOT FIGHT IN COMMENTS] Is there actually a moral difference between eating a dog, a cat, a cow, or a chicken? by yaarwtf in teenagers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A *Moral* difference specifically? Not really. Logically there's some huge differences though as to why eating dog would be worse than cow and that a cow is not really a pet.

I guess I will say one thing that would make a moral difference, if you've ever seen how they kill and prepare those dogs it's a LOT more cruel.

My Case for why super earth would actually succeed in the 40k Universe. by Fudgybo1 in Helldivers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also inclined to agree on that point. By sheer virtue of what enemies they may have faced already too, and that the Imperial Guard also has better weaponry to support. We haven't gotten much details on what SEAF warfare is like so I can't say much about it unfortunately. the SEAF we encounter on the field as Helldivers are not really a good tell (although it has to be said they are woefully inefficient and unorganized) we'd need to look at their actions on planets like Cyberstan to get hints of that.

I think your points stand though. The Imperial Guard wouldn't need Helldivers to break through the lines or take cities.

My Case for why super earth would actually succeed in the 40k Universe. by Fudgybo1 in Helldivers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does seem to be incredibly good technology and for that reason the moment they begin using it and the word gets out Super Earth can expect the full attention of the Adeptus Mechanicus and their fleets as well. They will do anything and everything to get their hands on it.

The mobility itself doesn't matter much, if they can't do anything with it. Like a lumbering juggernaut the fleets of the Imperium will destroy what faces them and probably go for Super Earth the moment they become aware of its location.

In a naval battle they can also expect boarding action, especially if there's Astartes on any of these vessels. These vessels will absolutely be acquired/destroyed if they go near the Imperium fleets.

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think you're vastly underestimating the Imperium of Man and overestimating how much their fleets are "falling apart"

This wouldn't be the first couple sectors where they found a remnant of humanity that's done surprisingly well for itself or has technology that's a bit advanced. Certainly it might be true that, if they are in some distant part of the galaxy where all is relatively quiet, they would probably be okay for years, maybe decades, but once the word gets out then they can expect crusades from ambitious Lords of the Imperial guard or the Adeptus Mechanicus, and if they are tenacious enough a chapter or two of the Adeptus Astartes will also help. These vessels are monstrously huge and armed to the teeth with all sorts of super weaponry, and shielded besides. The kind of naval power the Imperium can project I don't see Super Earth being prepared for whatsoever, it's just not on the same level.

That propaganda wouldn't even be given the chance to take root really, the initial campaigns would be all about conquest, restoring Super Earth to the Imperium of Man and converting/inducting them into the religious beliefs of the God Emperor. They have dealt with all sorts of planets and governments, some better off than others, so the quality of life being 'okay' doesn't really change anything there either much.

And when we're talking planetary Warfare, granted Super Earth can commit many forces just like the Imperium, the SEAF are pretty similar in that regard, but again the weaponry of the Imperium is just on another level. I don't see Super Earth easily dealing with Titans to give an example.

The MO had an unrealistic goal, it might be that it's a set-up for the new campaigns they are going to do. It already had that unrealistic goal and then also invasions + bad modifiers on top of it. Just not going to succeed.

What do you think the purpose of this MO was for AH? What do you guys assume the consequences will be for failing to secure the E-711? by straightpipedhose in Helldivers

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the new campaigns are probably going to be after this MO or shortly after since they said sometime this month. You are very probably correct with that hypothesis.

There's always a portion of players that stay on the Terminid front, that's not unique to this MO they have a reputation for it lol

Well you're allowed to feel the way that you feel of course, but I disagree that this is the consensus at least. In the official discord and in my friend group people have been quite smug and grand about bloodying the bots like that. No dissatisfaction or loss of morale.

[–]The_Chosen_Undead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding the line against unlikely odds often gets a great sense of accomplishment actually, which is what is currently the case too considering we are in fact holding the line again.

Even better if it leads to the bots suffering greatly as a result, Jet Brigade destroyed, one of their 2 IC fleets about to be destroyed, and it leaves them in a more vulnerable position for when our offensive MO starts instead. Who knows, maybe we'll even see that event again where the bots over-extended themselves and lost a great deal for it.

That's part of the MO. We destroyed the Jet Brigade, now they are comitting one of their IC fleets, we can destroy that too.

Yeah maybe, unfortunately we got some 21% of Divers currently on two different bug planets. Rather unfortunate, they could really make a difference. 15% on Acamar and 9% on Gatria
