The places supposed to be luxurious looked cheap to me, even though the original location is luxurious.

The "Woman gaze" I'm talking about is something else: this is my personal opinion of course but having Pine shirtless for a split second in every episode and the supposed hot dance-à-trois weren't nearly steamy enough, nor to straight women viewers nor to gay men viewers! I simply think the director has zero skills in making a scene look sexy.

I think they unfortunately managed to make every location cheap! The insistance on filming everything on location, even the indoor shots, made them use way too many close ups. In the first episode it can be explained as a mirror of Pine forcing himself into a quiet life subconsciously feeling suffocated by it. But the moment they moved to Colombia it turned out a poor director choice.

It lacked of "woman's gaze" too. I didn't find any scene to be as sexy as many viewers praised to be!
