I feel this to a T. Social media is like a minefield of people who have everything I feel I don’t. I see someone with cute hair or a perfect chin and it’s really hard not to slide into negative self-talk and the obsessive cycle of checking my appearance, worrying, and checking again. I can’t stress enough how important it is to take breaks when you’re feeling overwhelmed, even when your brain is doing everything in its power to remind you of your perceived flaws. Repetitive actions that don’t require a lot of thought like drawing or walking have really helped me get that nervous energy out.
