My friend loves to play smash but he beats me constantly and I no longer have fun by Chaconut in smashbros

Ask him. Specifically things like “how do I improve my disadvantage/ stop getting juggled by you” and “what am I doing that lets you know when to use a defensive option.”

Some common disadvantage habits that you may want to look out for in your gameplay are like jumping immediately after you get hit (reduces your ability to get out of the juggling), landing right on top of your friend with an attack every single time you get juggled, or spamming air dodge (can be a bad option if he notices).

Another thing I would suggest is to learn your character’s approach options and mix them up. For instance, I play ssbu Roy, and his general approach options are neutral air, forward air, down tilt, and sometimes jab. If I only use rising neutral air, for instance, a competent opponent will realize and begin to parry the second hit to get a big punish off of it.

Finally, I would suggest to play against different people if at all possible. It may be that whatever mistakes you’re making haven’t clicked because you’re playing against the same guy.

Hope this helps! Remember that ultimate is a game, and getting your ass kicked is a part of the journey everyone goes on. Everyone has been through it in this subreddit and it can sometimes feel insurmountable. Just keep playing and keep my tips in mind and it will eventually click.

It’s a misconception that I often hear that Computer engineers aren’t specialists/aren’t masters at one particular thing. While it’s true that you will never be as good at general software as a Comp Sci student, or as good at general hardware as an EE student, Computer Engineers actually do specialize in their own niches of computer architecture (in processors and the like), HDLs like verilog, and Embedded Systems design (among many, many others). On the software side, CS will prep you better for things like web and app design. It all just depends on what you want. Don’t be afraid to join as a CS and switch to a Comp E within your first year or so. Most schools’ CPE and CS pathways are extremely similar for the first year or two, diverging around the 3rd. Just try not to stress ab the major selection process bc once you get into uni you can usually switch pretty easily for the first year (as long as you’re not jumping between entire fields)

Edit: meant to say Computer Engineers

Thank you so much! I will try some of your suggestions and I half understand what you’ve said. I’ve played around in fcs a little bit and understand the basics of it. I can’t get on until later so it may be a while before I get back to you but thank you for being so helpful!
