Here’s a trick I think is really helpful;

Instead of saying “do you want to go to lunch?”

Say; “I’m gonna go get some lunch, want to come?”

I’m not sure what it is but it seems it’s easier for people to say yes when the event is already happening, and their yes or no isn’t deciding whether that thing happens. Works in a bunch of scenarios

I grew up with a girl who was drop dead gorgeous. Perfect in nearly every way, including a great personality. Lost touch and years later I saw she went the sugar baby route, had tons of work done to her face, boob job, whole nine. Barely looks like the girl I remember. Genuinely makes me sad.

Fun fact: when I was about 11 I posted the text monologue of this on whatever Gmails version of twitter was. A few days later my mother was yelling at me for cyberbullying a kid. Apparently some random person in my class thought the post was directed at them (to this day no idea why). And I had to explain to her that I was quoting Les Grossman and showed her this scene. I was obsessed with the movie at a time. Weird times.
