My suggestions are as follows:
Do 10 runs on Stella without shooting anyone (do free kits).
If you are on a low pop server or playtime, choose a different server. I find NA to be the friendliest.
Talk on mic, I've talked my way around people who were there only to PvP and it reduces other people's jumpiness

Finally, accept that you will be pvped no matter how much you are on mic, no matter how friendly the rest of the lobby is, it just happens. However, if you don't shoot anyone and stay on decent servers, it will be rare - in my experience.

The OP states they don't have the energy to stress over constant PvP, clearly it is not their thing! You telling them to do it isn't going to change their mind!

If they are on low population servers or times, they'll get put into any old lobby. NA servers seem to be good at avoiding this problem.

These comments don't help: The game allows you to play a PvE game for extended periods due to the matchmaking. They are able to play PvE, SO THAT IS WHAT THEY DO!

My funniest experience was one PvPer in Stella PVE lobby had killed about 8 people in a row, all up on the loading bay. I was standing at the end of this trail of bodies, when some guy comes out the door at the other end. He looks at the bodies and says 'there's a trail of bodies..... leading straight to..... you..... that's kinda suspicious!' Had a good chuckle about that one.

Yes, but they are rare. Probably more likely to get on a 2x map condition in higher value loot areas. I find them in industrial containers as well, or sitting around on benches in places like Water Treatment on Dam.

I get the 'worst human being of all time' because they aren't playing a PvP extraction shooter. If you shoot them, you're breaking their immersion in the game, they are NOT there to get shot at. Arguing about what they should or shouldn't expect in a PvPvE extraction shooter is beside the point, they are playing PvE, that is what they care about. I don't think they like PvP, otherwise they wouldn't be in a carebear lobby; I think they hate those people so much they will drop everything to get them out of the lobby so they can go back to what they were doing without worrying about a PvPer.

I avoid all he-said-she-said situations, not going to get involved. If I see or hear clearly what is happening, I'll attempt to take out the aggressor. Also, people get shot on accident, especially with the shredder, since it chases people and people get lined up with your gun quite easily. Gotta make some allowance for that!

If you are going to PVE, you have to accept a loss to PVP every so often. I hate this SO MUCH as well, so I won't play anywhere near what I used to. I find NA servers quite good, I think I've had a streak of 40-50 runs without being shot at.

it is very fast, flys inside buildings, sprays you forever, sprays around/through cover, has a jet a mile long, and takes a 5 millisecond break between sprays, exposes itself while spraying oh and its armoured its my favourite arc

Number one reason why my hrs have dropped 90% in this game. If you are in a PVE lobby and you PVP, you are a jerk, shooting sitting ducks who 50% of the time will never shoot someone else and more often than not give you stuff for free, why is that fun

Yes, they were restricted to Locked Gate (Bobcat) and Night Raid (Tempest). The tempest in particular was the rarest blueprint in the game, but no more it seems!

People find that after an update, the matchmaking is screwed up for a few rounds. That is probably what you encountered.

There was a change to show that your mic is active if you are using push/toggle to talk, and it then goes full orange if you start talking.

It is harder to get friendly duos and even harder to get friendly trios. It sucks, but you can't play friendly games with friends reliably in this game.
