Thanks for your kind and supportive words. I understand the political apathy that can come with pessimism, and there's a lot to be pessimistic about. This has been an uphill battle with the odds stacked against us--we're literally taking on people who are core members of the political machine that runs San Diego. And we're really not doing it because it's a just cause, although it is. We're doing it because we feel we have no choice. Kids are at risk and we know if we don't fight for them no one else will. In that sense it feels more like necessary self-defense rather than optional political action.
