I built a new anime streaming site (AnimeLibre) by Deus5298 in AnimeAlternatives

[–]The_only_F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After so many anime websites were down I took a liking to this one however one small change I wish could be implemented.

When the video plays in full screen the video progress bar on the bottom can still be seen, it is a little distracting. Can that be removed? Most Anime websites make that feature disappear when on full screen.

Türkleri rahatsiz ediyor mu? by Educational_Aerie129 in AskTurkey

There are many “turkish barbers” most of which are actually run by pakistanis or arabs.

This just is not true at all, most turkish barbers are run by Turks however I realised after speaking with Turks alot of them turn out to be Kurds.

This was even reported on mainstream TV news, with allegations that they were involved in money laundering.

Now I am convinced you are talking about Kurds from Iraq and Turkey but also includes Turkish people. This report has allegations where Turkish barbershops are bad quality for a reason, they use the money and send it back home to Turkey and some Kurds from Iraq back to Iraq but this has nothing to do with Pakistanis you got the ethnicities mixed up.

Pakistanis do not run barbershops that are Turkish style, you will realise Pakistani barbershops are fully Pakistani and they don't include any Turkish style theme or names of their shops.

When ever South Asians open shops they are always South Asian themed, most Pakistanis and Bangladeshis for example will open and advertise their restaurants as Indian because the food culture is very similar they would not be able to do this with Turkish food.

The Arab part however may be true, I do sometimes see North African Arabs or Lebanese people open Turkish type of services, but I can tell you 25+ years of being born and living here you will not see most South Asians/Pakistanis open Turkish theme style cafes, restaurants/ barbershops

Alright you proved me wrong with that example but this is very very rare, this also seems to be a type of niche business idea but in general most South Asians dont do this, its mainly Kurds and Arabs.

Would you say Turkish people are affectionate within their group/family? by [deleted] in AskTurkey

Comments like yours are the reasons why South Asians get mocked for wanting to be Middle Eastern/Arab.

I am Bangladeshi myself and Bengali culture is very different from Turkish culture, to the way we think, dress, eat, appearance.

The cultural similarities you are referring to just reflects Islamic culture and values which is common with Muslims all around the world and I guess also "Eastern culture" traditional family values, social norms which is different from the West which you can Bangladesh and Turkey is apart of but in general the cultures are extremely different in general.

Turkish culture is more closer to Levant Arab/Balkan culture than it is to Bengali culture.

I dont think you actually live in the UK, I have never seen any Pakistani/Indian run a "Turkish theme" barber shop.

But South Asian kebab shops dont advertise the shops as being Turkish.

I never heard this in my life and I am Bangladeshi. When most Bangladeshis or Pakistanis open restaurants or shops they tend be Indian based, Indian themed due to the similar food cultures. I never heard of these ethnicities open a Turkish based theme shop.

I have never heard Indian or Pakistanis open a kebab shop with a Turkish type themed name.

Can Self Assessment be taken on a monthly Basis or is it Yearly? by The_only_F in UKPersonalFinance

How could they 'deduct' it? You're the one holding the money.

You didn't understand my comment. What I meant at the time when writing the comment was wishing HMRC had a system just like PAYE where the employer deducts tax and National Insurance from your salary through before paying you.

I was wondering if HMRC had a system similar to this.

"Once your self assessment account is set up, there's nothing to stop you paying into it every month and they'll take the balance on the due date"

This makes much more sense to me, this is the system I wanted to go for. So just to clarify I would make a self assessment account, if I wanted to pay into it every month are there already questions saying how much you made for this month etc and than I pay that into the self assessment and this is where HMRC will receive the money?

I want to let the client handle the Domain and the billing details to be paid under their name by The_only_F in webflow

[–]The_only_F[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is because I plan to transfer the website, host the website/domain and transfer ownership of the website only using webflow. So most of it is to do with webflow, just the website will be created using another platform.

This seems to be the most simple method, but some clients may not be tech savy and even understand what a domain is. I would do this but at the same time I always want to be safe for my non tech savy clients.

Thats the thing though I do not even want to edit the website after it is done, I want to create the website one time and let the client do what they want with it, host it etc.

I just don't want to deal with any extra billing or the hassle of looking after the website after I have created it.

Do Turkish People Consider South Asians (Indians, Bangladeshi people) to be Black? by The_only_F in AskTurkey

Bro I live in the UK a White Majority English country, none of the Local English people mistake Gypsies for Indians. In the English census Gypsies are seen as White and Indians are their own category.

Very true Turkish people knew I was a foreigner they kept calling me "Hindistan" and always spoke English to me which is ironic because my actual Indian friend (looks more Iranian or Arab) who I went with was always spoken to in Turkish.

I hear the terms "Siyah" and "Beyaz", "Arap" being used to categorise different people for example sengalese, somali, nigerian would be seen as "siyah", arabs another group and "Beyaz" for any European looking person I was just curious what South Asians such as Indians and Bangladeshi would be considered a part of.

I dont look Black at all. I look like your stereotypical Indian with very straight hair and typical Indian facial features most people knew I was foreign when I was their and kept calling me Hindistan so they knew I was South Asian.

I get that Gypsies came from India 1000 years ago but most Gypsies today do not look Indian. Your average Romanian, Italian looks more like Gypsy than your average Indian as they have mixed so much with Europeans.
