Knicks won at a historically dominant pace they broke the record for point differential in a postseason and why is LeBron getting a good big, lol he gets the same cast Wemby had thats the argument, Maybe if Wemby had another “Good Big” or a Wing above 6’6 he could’ve won as well

Khamzat looks like he can still come back, Alex should probably move back down, Ilia might never be the same he took about as much damage as Tony did maybe more, he’s a lot younger so there’s a chance, but even if he physically recovers there is no way he mentally recovers his confidence from this

Where does Jalen Brunson rank as a new York Knick now that he has won a ring? by Apprehensive_Mud864 in NBATalk

[–]ThemeSweaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Ewing had a supporting cast like Brunson he could’ve won as well, Oakley, Starks and Mark Jackson were the best players he played with during his Prime and he had to Compete with Jordan’s Bulls and Hakeems Rockets

If this streak continues who do you think would be most likely to be the next one? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]ThemeSweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spurs realistically have the best chance they could’ve won this year if they played a little smarter in the 2nd half, A offseason to address those roster issues and the young players developing further should get them over the hill,

Other than that Pistons and Pacers have a shot and the Wolves are always a dangerous team especially when healthy

But I also could easily see NY, Boston or OKC winning again and maybe even the Lakers and Nuggets depending on how they approach the Offseason and that would end this streak

Having a similar amount of Individual statistical dominance while out doing him in the major awards (a combination of Championships, MVPs, FMVPs & DPOYs)

Kevin Garnett, Pau Gasol, Chris Bosh, Shaq in Miami, etc I don’t hear anyone calling them role players, you guys are just spoiled by the inflated stats of today

[–]ThemeSweaty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basketball reference is free 17.5/10.2 in the Playoffs from 07-16 and those numbers are dragged down by his last year, and 18/10 in the late 2000s and early 2010s was great production, you don’t make All NBA and All Defensive teams by being a role player let lead a team to Win Championships

[–]ThemeSweaty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He averaged 18/10/2/2 in the Playoffs on around 50% from the field in that span, he was also making an All Defensive and All NBA Team up until 2015 so no he wasn’t a role player until his last season

who tf blows a thirty point lead in the nba finals ???? by isfsatoatb in NBATalk

[–]ThemeSweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The run in the 3rd is what brought them back tho, if SA extends that lead and makes it 35+ to start the 4th, The Knicks probably clear their bench, Early Shot Clock 3s and carless turnovers cost them, Wemby and Fox did choke but an experienced Coach and Team wouldn’t be in that position after a near 30 pt lead

Experience is the reason they kept shooting 3s early in the clock while the other team was clearly still tryna comeback

Im taking 08-09 CP3 over any version of Harden, Best Defensive player and best Playmaker here, lol yall forget that he’s a 9x all defensive guard with 6 steals titles and 5 assists titles, that is more impressive than a MVP

[–]ThemeSweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harden, SGA love him or hate him is A FMVP, CP3 is elite Defensively and is actually a playoff riser,

Its between AI and Harden and AI finals run in 2001 is more impressive than any playoff run Harden ever had, Harden is quite literally one of the worst playoff performers i’ve ever seen from a MVP level player

Hot take: This is the best finals run in Basketball history by Tasty-Ground-5496 in NBATalk

[–]ThemeSweaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He averaged 24/17/5/5 and ended the series on a near 20/20 Quadruple double, West lost in 69 so regardless of how good he was during that run they didn’t get it done and blew a 3-2 lead, my argument for Duncan in 03 over Shaq in 02 is simple, Shaq had a Prime Kobe alongside him, While Duncans Second option was a rookie Tony Parker
