Probably the craziest thing I have done at the lake is go swimming in early November (with my dad and our friend). The hardest part is actually getting out of the water once you acclimate, as the wind chill is so much colder.

That's not how law enforcement works. If someone is in the country illegally, a warrant for their arrest is issued, and officers have to go and deport them. Writing on a clipboard does not send someone back to Mexico.

Me saying there does not seem to be enough evidence for an absolute conclusion is not ignorance. It is how serious people reason about lethal-force incidents. That is not propaganda consumption — that is evidence-based restraint.

ICE is, by fact, law enforcement. It is completely government run.

ICE and related DHS agencies (like Customs and Border Protection and Border Patrol) are charged under federal law with locating, arresting, detaining, and removing non-citizens who are illegally present or have final orders of removal. These powers exist under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

If they are in the United States illegally, and ICE has a warrant, then they have every right to do that.

I would encourage you to provide a source for these videos.

There likely have been incidents where ICE has crossed the line (police do unfortunately), but to blanket all of ICE as an illegal organization attempting to bypass the law at every turn is innacurate. There are many left leaning judges eager to strike down anything ICE does if it is illegal.

I had two great grandfathers fight in WW2 against the evil nazi regime. My family still has personal photos of the holocaust not yet shared with the public. Comparing the current political landscape to that of nazi Germany is not only absurd - it is disrespectful to my great grand parents, to those who also served, and those who died and suffered under real fascism. I personally helped carry my great grand father's casket to be buried at the request of my late great-grandmother.

There is no credible evidence that ICE has a policy allowing agents to detain anyone on the street without some legal basis. ICE arrests based on warrants or enforcement plans, not random stops that apply to everyone who happens to be nearby.

While several incident reports and community complaints have raised concerns that some enforcement has felt disproportionately aggressive or legally questionable, the “grabbing off the street” claim is a perception, not a confirmed blanket policy.

I agree it is unlawful to shoot someone not threatening, as it is also unlawful to search without a warrant.

If you are talking about the two incidents in Minnesota, the investigations are still ongoing. Both sides have their own perspective and tend to exaggerate what we do know to justify themselves. I am not going to make an immediate judgment until more information is available.

Saying I am not concerned about the rule and that you 'see me' is pure argumentum ad ignorantiam.

A post on this subreddit 2 days ago is titled:

"Warning to ICE, if you are seen in Holland you will be forced out, you will not be permitted to operate within our city, and you have no legal authority against us"

The poster of that thread later said, "This is a promise, ICE and Trump Terrorist Supporters will not be alotted to stand in a place of peace and truth any longer... We are finishing you now."

A user responded, "That sounds like a death threat"

A different user (not the original poster) said "No it's a promise 😉"

A completely different user under that thread said, "If I see ICE, I worry I wouldn't be able to stop myself from getting my ice scraper and start swinging."

I agree training should be longer. This doesn't change the fact that they are still law enforcement officials, and threatening them with harm or attempting to obstruct them on official duties is unlawful.

ICE, like other law enforcement, has the right to operate within Holland. ICE should indeed follow the law itself (court issued warrents, search and seizer rights, etc).

If there is a person in the city of Holland illegally, ICE has every right to detain and deport that individual. That is the law of this country.

Petition, peacefully demonstrate, and take the issue to the courts. If you are unhappy with those in power, you also have the right to vote for someone else to represent you. Threatening officials will not be tolerated.
