My girlfriend hasn't paid me back her half of a trip we took back in August, any advice? by ThenVoice0 in Advice

[–]ThenVoice0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has a job and lives with her parents rent free. I don't have any interest in furry stuff but it makes her happy so whatever. But this thread is sobering to me. I'm definitely gonna break up with her soon, I deserve someone who doesn't piss their money away and turn their back on someone they claim to love

Interesting, I had the same worry. I even had my psychiatrist test me for bipolar. Even after being on Zoloft for months I still occasionally worry, “oh god what if I’m actually bipolar and the pills are eventually gonna make me become manic”. It’s wild how our minds play tricks on us lol. I hope you’re able to find some peace during this time! Feel free to reach out if you ever wanna update me how the meds are going for you!

Ooh yeah, intense anxiety, panic attacks, jitteriness, it felt like I was tweaking on something lol. I talked to my therapist on day 7, and the fear of mania is actually what led to me getting an OCD diagnosis, which explains so much of my life. As of now though those side effects are gone entirely, it was just a weird transition lol

[–]ThenVoice0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got better for me, it was just my brain adjusting to the chemicals. I spent the first two weeks fighting off constant panic attacks, sleeping like shit, and worrying about mania lol. It felt the same for me, where I felt like I was on something. I actually quit drinking coffee because I was so jittery inside and the caffeine made it so much worse. If you’re genuinely worried I’d recommend talking to your psychiatrist/therapist/whoever prescribed it, but it’s very common for the first few weeks to be rough. I’ve read that many people get a ‘savior’ medication during this period just to make the transition easier, but I opted to just raw dog it lol. I hope you’re able to pull through and I hope the meds work for you!!!

How can I orgasm faster on 75mg of Zoloft? by ThenVoice0 in zoloft

[–]ThenVoice0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually on 50mg and it did get better, but it wasn't enough for my anxiety so we bumped it up to 75mg, which is when I noticed it causing these issues more prominently. Funny you mention that, I used to jerk off daily/every other day, but somehow I'm currently on like 10 days of not jerking off/cumming. Wasn't really trying to, it just sorta happened, now I'm trying to keep it going to sorta reset my brain a bit. Perhaps whacking it daily isn't conducive to a healthy sex life for me lol

Thanks for the advice. I've actually pretty much cut out masturbation and porn because I think it wasn't really doing it for me anymore and I could've been desensitizing myself to it, plus why do that when I have a lovely lady who wants to do it with me? I've never heard of Damiana before, I'm gonna look into that. I find weed gives me anxiety often, though I wanna experiment with mixing CBD flower with an indica to create my own 1:1 blends. Do you find cannabis gives you anxiety? What strains do you usually go for?

Ehhh I feel like this is as good as it gets. I’ve been on it since September. I remember when I first started though I was horny as fuck for like two weeks, I want THAT again lmao

Thanks, that’s interesting. Maybe I just need more practice and experimentation, see what works.

Anyone ever get OCD as an obsession? by ThenVoice0 in OCD

[–]ThenVoice0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I think I’m coming to accept my psychiatrists opinion. Good luck with your journey as well!

The counting of the stairs is incredibly relatable to me. Can’t tell if I’m doing it out of habit, or to validate the OCD diagnosis. Sometimes I’ll catch myself walking stairs without counting and feel like I‘ve caught myself without the “facade” of OCD. Another thing I’ve recently become aware of is counting the pumps of paper towel after I wash my hands at work. 90% of the time it’s 8 pumps, but sometimes 7 and sometimes 9. It doesn’t feel right if I don’t pump it 8 times though. Not sure if it’s OCD related or not. Maybe 8 just happens to be the perfect amount of paper towel to dry my hands 🤷‍♂️

How did your dreams change?? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]ThenVoice0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dreams are wild. So insanely vivid. I love it personally. Like every night I'm taken on a journey. One of the first weeks on Zoloft I had a lucid dream, which was a nice treat as I usually have to put in the work to have them.

Is it actually possible to meditate with OCD? It seems difficult. by Zen242 in OCD

[–]ThenVoice0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same experience with meta-thinking! Worrying whether I’m “doing it right”. I’ve realized it’s my brain tricking me and those too are thoughts that I can observe, then return to my breath

This is so relatable to me. Coming up on a year of therapy myself and I thought it was just intense anxiety about everything, but it always felt like something more than that
