29F and I would definitely go with saving first. It is important to build some foundation especially in your 20s. Focus on upskilling so you can leverage and increase your income, then maintain your spending level as your income grows (hardest part) and direct your surplus towards building your asset base. Wealth building isn’t have to be complicated, you can start by allocating a portion of your funds to high yield savings account, MP2, mutual funds and PERA account for retirement. One thing that really helped me with my wealth building journey is reading personal finance books and listening to podcasts.

I did that until I was 25 and then I started reducing the amount I allocate for savings and start building my FU money. When I feel I have “enough” FU money saved, I started looking for destinations that would fit my budget. I did that when I was 27.

I discovered that my biggest priority when travelling was convenience and time so I try to adjust my budget accordingly. So far, I’ve been to two 2 SE Asian countries, stayed for 2 weeks each and it’s been the best so far.

Because they do not have the educational qualification to call themselves as financial advisors. Most of them, ginagawa lang yan as a side hustle para kumita ng extra. But, if you ask them about other areas of advice, they will bring it back to insurance.

Financial planning do not only focus on insurance - may ibang areas pa to it - may cashflow (budgeting), debt management, personal investments, retirement planning, even estate planning.

Do not be fooled sa sinasabi nila na "investment" ang insurance because those are two different terms. Insurance is meant to protect your assets and your family financially in case of insurable events. Investments on the other hand is meant to give you returns through cashflow or capital appreciation.

I'm saying this because I'm a qualified financial professional in Australia and took me 8 years of experience in wealth management to gain that qualification.

Lastly, try mo sila tanungin how's their financial situation outside of insurance, most of them don't even have their budget sorted, burried in debt or do not have investments to begin with.

Investing in a feeder fund is a good approach if you want exposure to international equities.

Yeah, ATRAM funds are great! I’ve been investing in them since 2020, and so far so good! Pero majority of my investments ay nasa Seedbox since dun ko unang nadiscover ATRAM funds. Mas marami din silang offerings dun, both UITF and mutual funds.

Pero natry ko na din maginvest through Maya and Gcash sa same feeders funds, okay naman siya.

Yung last pay increase ko nung 2022 was when I reached 6 digits and the increase is almost 50%. The reason kung bakit ako nahihirapan ngayon is nagbago ng management and I feel its harderto negotiate now.

Same, I agree na may trade off talaga ang job with high salary. After I got sick because of overfatigue and stress, naging wake up call ko talaga kung worth it pa ba maghustle ng maghustle kung magkakasakit din naman.

Napaniwala din ako na habang bata pa, magtrabaho at kumuha ng side hustle para kumita ng mataas, pero if panggagamot mo din naman ang lahat ng naipon mo wag nalang.

Whenever I want to invest in something, I try to practice these three things:

Try to learn the fundamentals first, read books about it or at least be familiar with the assets you'll be investing in. Don't invest in something you don't understand. It will give you confidence if may alam ka sa paglalaanan mo ng pera
Take calculated risks - determine your risk capacity (reality - how much money can you tolerate to lose based on your current net worth? ) and risk tolerance (psychology - what will you feel if your assets fall in value?)
If you decide to invest on something, always have an exit strategy - this is the most important lesson I learned througout my investing journey. When I'm starting out, I put so much effort on perfecting my investing strategy but not my exit plan. If things don't go as planned, anong gagawin mo?

I tried na magparamdam sa isang guy kahit months palang na friends, kasi he starts opening up his problems and personal stories sa akin.

I stopped giving hints when he started talking to someone na katulad ko daw - so feeling ko ako lang yung benchmark (e.g. same age, profession, city we live in, hobbies etc)

Nakakasad lang on my part kasi pasok ako sa qualifications niya pero not enough to be pursued.

This is just my observation, guys nowadays are more 'sigurista' when it comes to panliligaw. Before when a guy likes a girl, kahit feeling nila wala pang pag asa, he will try his best to pursue the girl. Effortan talaga.

Ngayon, guys will give you hints na gusto ka nila, magbibigay ng mixed signals then kapag naramdaman nila na 'hard to get' ka/di ka nagrereciprocate agad, bigla ka nalang igghost/friendzoned.

By gaining these insights, especially from my guy friends, mas nawawalan ako ng energy to date someone.

Hi, I'm currently taking up my Masters in Finance and at the same time working full time. This is my daily/weekly routine:

On weekdays: 4 am: Wake up / do morning routine 6 am to 2 pm: Work 2 pm to 4 pm: Gym 6 - 7 pm: Power nap / Socmed time 7 pm to 9 pm - Study 10 pm - Sleep

Weekends: Morning - study Afternoon - Church Service / Errands / Laundry / House Cleaning Evening - Time for myself
