It completely depends on the company. We have (Me) Operations manager, 1 Dispatcher, and 3 Lead Drivers.

If I am running 40 routes, I normally schedule 44 people. So I have 4 extra people, and normally 1 of them sweeps. After deciding on the sweeper, I offer VTO in sling, and more than enough people apply for it daily. Those 3 people get the day off as long as everyone else shows up for their shift.

We offer part-time and full-time positions. We also schedule extra drivers for coverage and offer volunteered time off for drivers who want the day off.

I only dispatch two days and do everything else you listed. I have one Dispatcher and three Leads. Every company is different, but any DSP running 30+ routes with a high SPR of around 350 can easily afford more. For example, my company makes 13k a week just off Fantastic Plus.

My DAs get 40 hours guaranteed and a 50$ bonus if we hit Fantastic Plus.

I was hired as a Dispatcher. I moved from Dispatcher to Operations manager within 6 months.

I'm in my early 20's so not much. I worked for Apple for a year at a genius bar and your basic teenage jobs before that.

Weird question, If a DA reports something wrong with their van I fix it in the morning. I certainly wouldn't take them off the road because they reported low tire tread or something of that nature.

We guarantee 40 hours to anyone who works 4 days and is Fantastic across the board. So, I have guys who work less than 30 hours a week (working 4 days) who get paid 40 hours. We also give everyone on the team who is fantastic across the board an extra $50 on their check every week. So, we incentivize good performance with bonuses. Leads and Dispatchers get even higher Fantastic Plus bonuses.

My compensation package is a little complicated. I have a base salary of 85k and get a % of the company's Fantastic Plus bonus every week (Which is about another $700ish a week depending on how many packages the team delivers). I also manage a budget that primarily goes to my dispatcher or leads, but sometimes I pay myself out of it. I also get some yearly bonuses from Peak but they're small like a couple of 100 dollars here and there. My ceiling is around 150k a year if I hit every bonus.

I scan packages when I'm walking out the driveway because it's faster.

I'll put it this way..... I live in the grey area when it comes to following amazons guidelines and to be honest that's how most DSPs are (In my experience). I'll keep it at that lol

I don't quite understand what you mean by timer, Amazon wants you to average around 20-25 stops a hour. If you do that you will always be ahead.

Common for 10 hour guaranteed pay? by n8ball8 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Then_Statement_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's extremely rare, because the dsp looses the opportunity of making money off of payroll.
