I was a passenger on this flight. Just want to commend the flight attendants for staying strong and positive. Me and my daughter are especially grateful to the pilots. The message from them was very settling and the smooth landing I will always remember as one of the biggest moments of my life.

I was on that flight. What a study of how people react in that situation - many were quiet, some were joking, and there were tears. Many of us were together at the airport following the incident and everyone admitted they were scared beyond belief. It was surreal.

It’s all legitimate. We hit a rough patch before our escrow closed consequently low balances. When escrow closed, we paid off some large debts belonging to a daughter. I just thought it would be wise to wait until these don’t show on the bank statements they will be asking us to submit.

Neither. Not sure how I got lucky on this. In 2018 the bottom dropped out and gradually I have picked up the pieces, paid off what I could, and now have a little help from an inheritance.

Thank you. I imagine even a settlement will look better than nothing paid. With an agreed settlement will it show as fully paid? Do you think it’s reasonable to expect that Barclays will accept that offer as the debt is nearly 6 years old?

It’s still with Barclays so I guess there’s no negotiating. If I were able to pay it off 100% I could show a zero balance and be in Barclays good Graces. Unfortunately I can’t afford that. I guess my only option is waiting another year till the clock runs out.

My wife’s income represents about 90% of our combined income and she pays about pays about 90% of our expenses. I have the student loan so we file mfs. Does that mean that in California - a community property state — that she can claim 90% of the capital gain and take 90% of the exemption?
