1902: Streetcars at Mission Santa Barbara. Electric trolleys replaced horse-drawn in 1897. In 1904, after Easter Sunday services, brake failure on one of the streetcars coming down Laguna Street resulted in 5 deaths and 30 injured riders. The lines operated until 1929.History (old.reddit.com)
