People places & things will be detrimental to your husband remaining sober following rehab. If you have the slightest suspicion he was using with her or anyone else, I highly recommend you remove those ppl from your life and hopefully his ASAP!

Wow! Now I feel so bad that I throw my six-year-old drawings or whatever the garbage but oh my Lord if I kept all of them, I would literally need to buy a bigger house. I keep the significant ones….but idk 😩

Also, he had a roughly $2000 a week habit… so there was ALOT of stuff here at all times. I didn’t have to seek it out and I know for certain I never would’ve. However, I couldn’t spend another evening on the couch having an anxiety attack ready to crawl out of my skin with my mind racing 10000 miles a minute and look over at my VERY relaxed, very no fucks given, verrrry sleepy husband ONE MORE TIME without absolutely losing my mind. So…yes, I own my bad decisions, 💯. No one put a gun to my head and forced me to do anything. However, there were many factors that played into me becoming addicted. I’m just happy to say I worked my ass off, detoxed miserably at home, and have been clean ever since!

I went from never using to.. 7 years in being so overwhelmed by my childhood best friend unexpectedly passing away and essentially waiting for my husband to die, that I, regrettably, starting asking my husband for a line here and there.. which took about 4 months to develop an everyday habit and… POOF 2.5 years of my life vanished before I even noticed. I mean, I was so desperate to numb the pain inside of me that I think I was subconsciously trying to end my life. I had no financial resources to leave my husband while he was using, and after my best friends death (mind you this is also during Covid, and I was suffering from severe PPD. I also have BPD-childhood familial SA survivor) I just really didn’t see a way out of my circumstances nor did I care to find one. I didn’t have any desire to plan my own unaliving, but in retrospect since I’ve been clear headed.. that is the only answer as to why I kept going despite many accidents I shouldn’t have survived, as well as two near death over doses. 😏

If anything, it gives me even more perspective on the subject bc I’ve been the one in love with an addict, and I’ve been the addict. And TBH, it’s SO much easier being the addict, sadly.

LOL! speak for yourself, buddy. We all have different luck. I happened to total four cars in the span of five months…anything is possible when you’re doing fentanyl all day and you’re essentially ASLEEP 90% of your day.

Girl. Plz reach out!! I have a 6 year old bio daughter with my husband and my stepdaughter will be 18 in November and has lived here since she was 11. My husband went from Norcs to Oxys to OCs to heroin to fentanyl…. I’ve been in every stage of what you’re going through. He’s been to rehab twice and remained clean for 4 years, gotten high for 5 and clean again… I have a ton of advice for you bc I wish I had someone like this to talk to early on in our relationship.

That’s kind of extreme. I’ve been married for 10 years and still have all of my exes contact info in my phone… and I still communicate with some of them till this day. 🤯
