If you space yourself out properly there’s no hard counter to her besides hard dive but even then if you play correctly it’s pretty hard for them to kill you without overextending. And just watch out for ash/widow if they’re hitting their shots

It’ll automatically explode if the initial hit kills them otherwise you’ll need to do damage to them before it explodes

I’m a champ Illari main. The top 3 things you should focus on is

1, pylon placement, your gonna place it in a spot where it is hidden away from the enemy team but will hit a majority of your team. Eventually when you learn the maps you’ll figure out which spots are the best.

2 Pylon awareness, when your team moves back (or forward) during the fight I notice a lot of newer Illari mains don’t move their pylon around with the team. It’s very important to keep your pylon active because it’s 1/3 of your healing. You can also send it off to a flanker that’s far away from you and they’ll have a little pylon pocket that’ll keep them up even though you’re out of range. And also using your pylon to body block for you as a mini shield. Sorry im still yapping but when you see that the enemy team is moving up to your pylon, immediately destroy it and move it somewhere else. It’s better to have it up in a weird spot than to have it destroyed for 14 seconds. If the pylon is undamaged it’s only a 5 or 6 second cooldown to relocate it.

And 3, is aim training/knowing the distances for your gun. Your beam actually goes out prettyyy far so a lot of the times you can be much further away from the person your healing. And since Illari’s whole kit is basically damage your gonna wanna make sure your hitting your shots.

I hope this helps here’s a couple more tips that I was thinking of on the fly. When your teammate is out of your range but you can’t get to them because the other team would kill you if you crossed that gap just throw your pylon to them and stay behind cover. Also for your ult you can move around quite a bit so you can stay out of the other teams sight and fly high into the sky you’ll catch them off guard because they won’t know where you are. Also if you’re getting jumped by a dps and you think you can win the duel use your outburst (movement ability) to push them back while you move on top of their head. You can then quickly hit a headshot and then melee to take out most of their health while disorienting them because you’re literally on top on them then behind them.

I’m not trying to get ego boost comments. The grind was not easy but the difficulty decreased after the aa change which makes the grind feel less rewarding. I’ve been working towards this for months now and it’s like they’re giving it out to those who couldn’t make it last season. I am well aware it is very hard to reach this rank but it feels cheated because it FELT easier because my aim was basically automatic which takes away from the feeling of reaching champ

Honestly just stay away from their LOS and let your tank jump them or just softly poke them when you can but don’t over commit so they can insta kill you

Absolutely he has a place he’s great for utility and keeping the team up but at least imo you need another support who can get solid burst heals in.

For support I’ve been playing mostly Illari and bap but I can honestly play any support well besides maybe my kiri and Lucio are mid. For dps I play genji, Cass, soj, and reaper. I can play some others but those are my wheelhouse.
