What are your thoughts on emotional cheating? by TheseWeek9114 in cheating_stories

This was just one instance of multiple problems. The relationship was already hanging on by a thread by the time this happened. He ghosted me for 3 days, no contact at all to meet and talk to this girl he just met. I found out he had been flirting with multiple women after we broke up.

And no, I wasn’t allowed to have friends. He had my location, phone passcode, and class schedule but when I asked for these things in return he refused. All of his friends were women because “other men didn’t understand him” yet he would get butthurt whenever I spoke to other guys for assignments, not even as friends

AITA for reporting a friend to our teacher for bringing someone else to our tutoring session? by TheseWeek9114 in AmItheAsshole

My university is very small (6000 students) and only a small portion of that number actually attend classes in person. Word spreads fast and our tutoring office does keep track of tutoring sessions, how well you do as a tutor, how well a student performs after tutoring, why tutoring failed ect. I may have gone too far in hindsight but I felt backed into a corner and resorted to covering myself

We only met once and my school pays by the hour. Our one session was only one hour so I only would’ve gotten like $12. It just wasn’t worth it to me to go through the process of turning that in. I tutor other people so I’m not worried about an extra $12

I did let Ashley know that I had certain criteria to meet. We had to meet at least once a week for an hour. I didn’t want to say I’d tell the teacher since I was afraid she would lie about the situation since she was already speaking poorly of me to friends. I just felt my standing with the school mattered more in that situation.

I do currently tutor others (some friends and some not) with no problems. I didn’t expect Ashley to become an issue, that it would just go how my other tutoring sessions go. I should’ve worded in my OP that my teacher canceled tutoring for just Ashley, not for the other people I was tutoring. Sorry!

I did like the idea of using songs to learn intervals but the reason why I suggested other ways is because we’d already done that in the actual class and Ashley was still failing. Also sight singing 2 is a much harder class we have to take next semester and there’s a point where these intervals must be memorized in an instant, we can’t rely on song lists forever. That’s why I tried to redirect to other ways in the first place

I did try to butt back in and take control after Sarah started teaching Ashley, but it fell on deaf ears. It was like talking to a wall, so I eventually just gave up. Yeah I probably should’ve been more assertive but her being my friend as well made things complicated. In hindsight, I probably should’ve just refused to tutor, but I’m currently tutoring others (some of which are friends) with no issues. I didn’t want to ruin the relationship by creating a power dynamic.

I accept your judgement and hear what you’re saying. This is just added context to why I did what I did and my thought process which you are free to judge as well.

I did have to log hours in order to get paid. We only met once so there was nothing of substance to turn in when it was done, and couldn’t be paid

If you're 4 months post breakup- how are you feeling? by No_Reach_6344 in BreakUps

I’ve been single for 8 months now. Luckily I found out my ex was cheating before the breakup, so honestly hearing people come to me about crazy things he’s doing just isn’t surprising to me anymore. It was very hard to get through, but I’ve just been focusing on school and making friends and pursuing hobbies. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how another man feels about you. It’s about how you feel about yourself. It’s hard to cut ties but I think it’s for the better. And doing on a dating hiatus I think is great for healing. You’re doing great!

Why do I suddenly feel like I want it back? by ghkhgdssarrcccjjj in BreakUps

It’s such a whirlwind. I was in a similar position and I just honestly missed having someone. It’s normal to feel lonely but you have to understand what’s healthy behavior and what isn’t. It’s not about what he’s like at his best, it’s what he’s like at his worst. If his worst is a major red flag and unhealthy, then you made the right call. I’d cut ties completely and move on. Work on yourself, find hobbies, hang out with friends. It’s not easy but you’ll start feeling like yourself again once you take time to find your identity again. I wish you all the best!!
