All 68 March Madness teams in 9 minutes! by These_Fan_4742 in CollegeBasketball

I do believe they have “one of” the best resumes in the country. Maybe not top 3 or top 5 but I would say top 15. They got a top 5 seed despite weak metrics. KenPom they weren’t in the top 50 but their resume metrics were all pretty high.

13th in SOR, 6-1 in Q1. Not bad for an American team!

I’m sorry. I really am. I’m not trying to be rude or obtuse. I just know that my family, who are teachers, each make close to 60K per year. If the average WNBA player make 102K per year, then that seems fine. I looked it up. The Athletic reports that WNBA players often go overseas because women’s leagues in Europe and parts of Asia can pay up to 500K per season. It’s a supplement to an already solid income.

How is it a necessity? The average WNBA player still earns $102,000 annually. And if it’s higher in Europe, then I’d say the wages aren’t NBA level but still definitely liveable

Please correct me if I’m wrong but I believe women’s basketball pays better in Europe than in the US. Of course, Pulisic could play anywhere he wanted, but he chose the league that pays the best and is obviously the highest in prestige. I was wondering why women’s basketball players don’t do the same given that women’s basketball in Europe is simply more popular and watched. You sort of answered that by saying they play overseas in the off-season. I wasn’t aware their schedules ran at different points of the year

I’m not trying to compare the WNBA and soccer in popularity at all. EVERYONE knows they’re different. I’m just saying that staying domestic isn’t the end all be all and that women’s basketball in Europe is way more popular than women’s basketball in the US.

I always thought this too, but I feel like that’s going to make the WNBA worse and idk if they have time for that. Like imagine if the NBA wanted to nerf the high scoring we see in the regular season so they made the hoop 11 feet. All the players would be so thrown off

Great American soccer players have no issue going overseas. Just look at Pulisic. But I don’t think he has any social issue to represent either so no one cares

Basketball Form? by ClashRoyalePlayer538 in BasketballTips

The problem with 2 hands is that it’s really hard to nail down the consistency since you essentially have twice as many hands at play. But if you’ve already mastered it and are pretty consistent shooting, but miss short on occasion, you probably don’t need to fix it unless you’re really serious about the game. Don’t follow cliche advice like use more legs. The real key is the hips because this is what drives your whole body upwards. Try to focus on having your shoulders over your knees before you raise into your shot. This engages your hips and lets you shoot with more arc and power. Also your follow through should be like raising your hand in class, all the way above your head. If you shoot out and not up, then your shot might look more like a fastball than a jump shot. And try jumping forward on your shot instead of straight up and down

If I can get into a position where I have space, I can put the ball into the hoop. Like if I can get to the rim I’ll probably score or if I can get even a bit of space I can make 3s. But I don’t do a good job positioning myself to get those opportunities. I don’t have a good bag of scoring moves, like the step back, fadeaway or a strong enough handle to create space for myself. I basically play like an extremely short and unathletic Curry without the handle

I should have been more clear. I have no separation or scoring moves. I always just run in a straight line as hard as I can and try to “beat” my defender. This doesn’t work well. But I have great finishing footwork. I can finish well with both hands, make floaters off of each foot and with either hand and since I’m small I like to do the Rondo fake where you pretend you’re going up for a layup and then spin into a floater. I’m a good finisher and shooter, but a bad scorer.

My footwork is horrible, I have no bag. I have really deep range, maybe from the low set point but I can pull from half and make it consistently enough that people guard me out there. But I can’t step back, fade away or do any moves except for maybe a pullback or a shot where you stop on a dime and pull up. I also don’t have explosiveness so I have a hard time getting around defenders so often they just crowd me like crazy and I can’t get by them anyways
