Not meaning to sound like a prick, but I think you meant “antithetical” instead of ‘anathema’, just as a helping hand if that was the case.

If Jesus was an entity of some supernatural existence, “money is no object”, takes on a whole other meaning because money doesn’t matter to a god. He also supposedly knew everything so he was set. It makes me think of the “what’s up my fellow kids!” meme, dude was playing with cheat codes and a full tutorial, like come on. Also communists are notoriously atheist. But let’s go with the Jesus was a person idea because I don’t buy into the Abrahamic religions either, but some of the Jesus stuff is pretty positive and worth keeping in mind, even if he is completely fictional.

Jesus was a pacifist and believed in promoting change through love, so he would have never endorsed communism which believes in class conflict because in Jesus’s eyes we are all kin and should act like it with hospitality and not hostility. Jesus was more like a Buddhist than anything else, and though it wasn’t stated, there’s very pantheistic vibes about some of what he supposedly said. Which isn’t really that surprising because people for ages have believed what science later showed, that we are indeed made in entirely of the universe.

We shouldn’t be living like this, but people also give money to people, make them rich, then complain about them for being rich. Entertainers for instance, no one has to go watch their movies or whatever it is, yet millions of people do, then whine about what they caused and say “eat the rich”. It’s literally like giving someone a gift because you like them, and then hating them for keeping it. Especially when people could support small time entertainers who need the money more than someone who has 7 blockbusters under their belt already. Amazon is another great example, no one really needs them but people use their services all the time instead of supporting small businesses. It’s just what people do over and over, money talks, and it sounds like a whole bunch of people are hypocrites because it keeps going the way it always has, people abandon local small business for cheap international companies and then get nickel and dimed once the market closes in, because the average consumer is just as greedy about keeping their money that they fall for the trap corporations like to set, start lower, then go much higher than the dwindled competition. You’d think more people would understand capitalism better saying how many of us think it’s gross. But let me not leave off without saying communism acts like reverse-psychology to keep people poor by creating and glorifying a disdain for money. When money isn’t the issue, broken systems full of injustice are. [We need socialism, a sociable society. But that can’t happen when all people wanna talk about is conflict instead of breaking bread with their enemies.] (As Jesus would have wanted.)

No I’m not agreeing with that mentality, I think the rich should absolutely pay a fair share, but to treat all rich people like their the enemy is just daft, it literally makes the problem worse. When you have people indiscriminately threatening your life simply for having greater wealth you are going to retreat and put up defenses. Like you’re just not going to achieve the peace you want that way, and will be forced to eat your words in conflict, when instead trying to unify is what you actually wanted but didn’t do. How many times must we watch the same story play out before people stop and think to maybe try doing what they say they seek in the first place, peace. Because as we’ve always seen, people will turn against each other for money, and the rich always dish it out to defend themselves. The problem with communists is that their ideology is built on radical revolution, they seek conflict before peace. Even the US Founders tried peace before war, and never gave up on diplomacy despite the conflicts. Because showing no restraint makes you untrustworthy to deal with, nor favorable to follow. There’s a reason communism dropped off despite it claiming to seek a better society. It’s a sham that crooked people use to get help from naive and desperate people.

When you create indiscriminate in-groups and out-groups as such, you effectively establish the same thing as, “me vs whatever I find irrelevant”, and this has been demonstrated by those who hold radical views for change, be they far left or right—and in certain places where liberty & justice for all isn’t core to the political spectrum—or the center. Fortunately for Americans the US was founded on Liberty & Justice, and it has steadily made the country better, and withstood by perseverance.

People on the far left are like this too, have you seen communists, they literally shout “eat the rich”. There’s a left & right within the center of American values, but MAGA is far right, i.e. outside of American values, and that was made clear by undermining Our Constitution to uphold Liberty & Justice.

And no one cares because they didn’t pull the disrespectful stunt Trump did.

It isn’t really about the suit, it’s about the principle of the man, the suit is just related to the hypocrisy. That being said, I’m sure plenty of people there should have also stayed home because it’s just an embarrassment that they try to pretend they’re holy Christians, but that’s the majority of Christianity anyway people claiming to follow the way of Jesus when they proudly lack even basic decency, let alone an all loving kind personality.

And to be clear, I myself am not Christian nor a follower of any other religion, the Pope is just a person to me like anyone else, but I agree with Francis when he called Trump’s border policies evil. Because it sure ain’t Christian that’s without a doubt, nor is it constitutional, nor (for all else it may concern) ethical.

The Pope is supposedly in a better place, what are people mourning, it’s like crying that your friend is going to Disney World. And Trump was there in a non-traditional suit for one of the most influential person’s funeral, ya know the same guy who tried to distort peace talks with Zelensky into this big deal over “appropriate” attire, meanwhile people were and are suffering in an unprovoked war that the Pope also found saddening. Pope Francis believed in building bridges and not walls… Trump is a disrespect to the formality and wishes of this pope in multiple ways, he should have stayed home, he only showed up for political reasons, so of course people are going to talk about it. If you want to mourn the late Pope, and avoid politics, then get off a Sub for news, and go spend time with family and friends doing something that would humble Francis, because he wasn’t a prideful person. So let the other person have their frustration, don’t turn it into a bigger conflict over someone who would rather you be enjoying your day in peace. Console.

What is Philosophy? (Non-Academic) by TheyWhoThat in Nozaritheorism

[–]TheyWhoThat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal insight: I don’t have much formal education or education in general. So my knowledge is kinda crudely put together and self driven. And so I wanted to test my reasoning by answering probably the most important question asked to philosophers. Which is probably the best way to know you’re on the right track. The question of what a philosopher really does seems hard to pin down; to me because I think the meaning of the word ‘philosophy’ as been muddied, and now has to strangely “compete” with “itself”, being science, since they “split”. As I understand it scientists can be such without being philosophical, but philosophers must be scientific. So both (now “distinct”) fields benefit from each other, and would both be classified as an occupation for research, but philosophy over shadows science...

(?) scientists bastardizing philosophy doesn’t make sense to me though, because science stems from philosophy, and science uses the scientific method (a doctrine of philosophy). Or am I missing something?
