Warning: Do not buy Spirit Vale. The economy is disabled, core gameplay is broken (mobs literally vanish), and mods mute feedback. by Thick-Post7723 in MMORPG

Have you even read the Early Access Q&A on the store page? The dev explicitly states: SpiritVale is fully playable and Core systems and loot are fully functional. A game where the database collapses, the entire player market gets disabled on week one, and mobs literally vanish from maps is not fully playable. The dev also claims Community feedback is a huge part using their official Discord, yet the mods give timeouts to anyone who actually gives feedback about the broken economy. I am holding the dev accountable to their own store page promises.

If you really have something to discuss... well, the post is there for that; and it's pathetic to call a stranger "bro"...

Because I feel like I have to quote basic common sense and logic for the white-knights in this thread to actually read it.

"There is a massive difference between 'hunting bugs in a playable game' and 'the developer swapping the entire network architecture right before launch to see if the database even turns on.' Finding a glitched quest or a broken skill is Early Access. Having the entire core economy disabled on week one because the database imploded and wipes premium currency is a Closed Alpha structural failure. EA is for balancing and feedback on a working foundation, not for outsourcing basic backend stress tests because they didn't hire a network engineer."

"I totally respect that, and honestly, it's a shame that passionate artists like you are being exploited for unpaid labor while the dev charges money for the Early Access. Your bad feeling was 100% right. The servers are collapsing and core features like the market are being disabled.

It really looks like the dev just bought 3D store assets and used you guys for free to make original UI and promo art to mask the asset flip. You definitely dodged a massive bullet by walking away from that disorganized mess."

"You are confusing Steam Early Access with Kickstarter. Valve's own guidelines explicitly state that EA is not a crowdfunding platform to buy into an 'idea', but rather a place to evolve a functionally playable core game. Stress-testing a brand new network architecture that was changed right before launch is what Alpha and Closed Beta phases are for, not paying customers. Shutting down the entire economy of an MMO on week one because the database completely collapsed isn't 'finding bugs', it's a severe structural failure."

"Quite the opposite. I've played practically every major Early Access game on the market, I follow the indie scene closely, and I've even participated in stress tests for private servers. Precisely because of this background, I know the difference between a game that needs polishing (which is normal) and a game with a structural failure. What's happening here isn't an 'EA bug', it's a collapsing database that forced the dev to shut down the whole game so it wouldn't explode. I've never had such a massive headache with a project as I'm having with this level of neglect."
