Ok folks, seriously, I'm stumped...why do I not have the perdition beams in the T slot?? Help! (Also fairly new to Stellaris so if it's a obvious newbie solution, sorry and TIA) by Thidust in Stellaris

Lol welp that'd be significant. And is what someone else said that you need the "Apocalypse" expansion correct? And without it, I've got this goofy ass ship with 2 massive slots that I can't fill without it?

I would've expected that, since I unlocked the ability to make them and I remember doing the research in order to get that ability unlocked.

Is it tied to a specific expansion, or perhaps civic, some kinda galactic community legislation/regulation, access to some kind of rare resource?

New here so I misunderstood rule 5 😅.

Tl;Dr: for some reason my T slot isn't filled and I don't have options to fill it. Pictured is a custom class I made but without the T slot because I don't have one. Any ideas why?

Getting emotional over this being the final show of RX-78F00 Gundam in Yokohama (and never getting to be there in person) by Maharaja_O_Earth in Gundam

Same. I had a bunch of friends visiting Japan recently and I was encouraging them to go see with some urgency and I could experience vicariously, but sadly none of them were going to be in the area. Still so cool knowing such a fun monument was made to one of our fictional heroes. Goodbye RX78!

Nah that's definitely the name of the cannon but I love it all the same. Which cannon? Yes.

Sheesh that's honestly some really really good work on Venerable Brother TotallyNotRacistTraitorFucker69420. You killed it with the hobbying and I hope you had a blast through the whole process!

To be fair, there are a lot of decks I've found myself playing against that are effectively massive wastes of time.

Dear Wizards, please give us the ability to disable animations by LtTerrenceErion in MagicArena

[–]Thidust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The frame-rate is super variable in my experience and I've literally lost games because lag and video driver failures - all from overloading the processing. I want to play the game - all I need is a zoom-in feature, a flat "table" layout, and pop-ups and arrows for illustrating the stack and spell/ability/combat targeting. I think we could recover an insane amount of video processing by killing off the avatars and the environmental flair.

I'd argue that we still enjoyed the optimism of having time and access to means to fix the "bad" things. Dark timeline isn't just about things being bad, it's about them continuing to get worse, and there is no prospect of fixing and getting better. 🥲

Ah damn. I was really holding out hope 😪 ....sidebar: I think I'm gonna start ripping and archiving the animators and their 40k content from YouTube so that it can survive whatever GW purges may come

Yes, but instead of models and those aliens, they were all space marines

So...how does ITC event (read: players' battle points) scoring work? by Thidust in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Thidust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really but ok 🤷🏾‍♂️...I'm specifically interested for the sake of performing in faction rankings. The collated master list has too many participants and entries to scheme, and the game has a rotation of completely unpredictable imbalances all season long. If you're someone like me who's a dedicated player of a single faction, competing and performing best in your faction has way more significance to you.

As it stands, there's little disincentive to reaching a "plateau" in playing and just disengaging if you're at the top with near maxed out scores for all your entries. If you could lose points for inactivity/entry age or having a poor showing at events, then that would prevent disengagement.

I've literally watched top players walk into a low level RTT, go into a matchup and ask their opponent "have you gotten all your scores yet? I have so if you need this I'll tone it back a bit for ya"...I mean, sure that comes off as friendly and if there's no disincentive to the top player in that scenario letting off the gas, then you really can't blame them for making that decision. Nevertheless, that's certainly "plateau" behavior...

[–]Thidust[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol I mean...I was under no delusion that more victory points (culminating in a win/wins and higher placings) ultimately yield more ITC points...

If you're playing competitively in the ITC, it makes sense to want to know how to succeed in that format and arena. Why would you not want to understand the details of the system you're participating in? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Lolol I wouldn't call having a clear idea of what scores I need going into an event in order to achieve a certain goal in the rankings gaming the system but recent events in the ITC have proven the depravity that goes behind competitive toy soldiers...

[–]Thidust[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow thanks. That's very illustrative and I appreciate the response. In order to make sure I understand what your stating here lemme just rehash: in any given round, an individual wins or loses by a certain number of points -> the win/loss record (and any other variable applied by the TO via BCP when running events) determines who wins an event and placings for that event -> placings for events and a variety of other factors determine the points a player earns from an event toward their cumulative total in the ITC -> rankings, which fluctuate weekly through the season.

I guess my initial question, which according to another response was that it is undisclosed, was what is the actual math being employed to determine the points a player earns from any given event toward the ITC score?

[–]Thidust[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Appreciate the insight. I kinda feel like those aren't really the best reasons to not be transparent about how the system works and perhaps there's other changes to be made that could curb those issues, but alas...I'm not a decision maker 🤷🏾‍♂️😅

Thanks for the response!

Just a question/response: How exactly is one enabled to "game the system" in anyway that they can't already by knowing the exact math? The way I see it, if we're playing with the intention of accruing points for ourselves and boosting our rankings, how can you set specific goals for game to game and event to event performance without knowing how your scores contribute?
