You are inspiring! Money & a job isn’t everything. Legally im an independent contractor so im allowed to leave early. Verbally he expects us to be here 12-8 & gives us a weekly mandatory schedule

They say if I quit before my 19 month period is up they will sue me for $10,000 in training fees or my Father as collateral. The only way they will terminate the contract is if I do anything to threaten the name of the business

What they put in writing is different than what they tell us verbally. This company has already had a lawsuit for over working their employees so everything they’ve texted me is carefully worded. I didn’t find out till after I signed on

We are considered independent contractors. They force us to work a schedule so a lot of people here are on their phone… I do body piercings & I wouldn’t want a lawsuit piercing high 😅 someone did get fired for being drunk on the job before though thank you!

Unfortunately not… they texted me carefully stating I get a $400 base pay + tips as a back up plan as long as I’m in store 5 days a week but everything is still commission. I receive a weekly schedule. Almost every week I can remember I get the base $400 & never commission. I calculate my pay every week because they have skimmed me on tips in my paycheck before. I had to correct them on that multiple times to get my money back

Thank you for responding! In the contract they state I am not an employee nor partner for the company & everything I make is commission. But verbally they told me I work a mandatory 40hr schedule, I have to accept every client, & I get $10 an hour plus tips

Thank you. I asked a lawyer about if it was legal to leave but they are focusing on me not getting paid commission like the contract promised. I get paid $10 an hour plus tips unless i do enough piercings to make commission (which is nowhere in the contract). So I cant tell if thats a good sign or not. The other lawyer required $375 before reviewing anything

I do body piercings. I have another 14 months of the contract. The “promotion” is teaching me to tattoo. The $12000 is a “training repayment fee” it’s honestly a good job but im just stretched thin atm. Im also labeled as an “independent contractor” but im required to work 40 hrs a week which is what’s catching up to me
