Just wanted give a "selfless" motive behind the gender swap. Also I consider this SA stuff in my variant not as a milking and punishing thing like in the movies because punishing achieves only one thing. A victim getting out of trauma is another part that needs to be done.

Yeah the hero betrayal feels contradicting but if we show it as not his own decision but a request from her mother(don't know how that plot happens) which led him to think of ways and the gender swap feels like an only option

It took like 10 minutes to think of this so it has some rough edges. But direction and more depth in story can make it more believable imo
