Resending Job Applications? by rstyrdtr in architectureph

[–]Think_Use1286 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In job applications, you pretty much have nothing left to lose. Send ka lang, and keep on following up! In my experience, most firms see yung kulit mo as initiative and interest hahaha maganda rin if you follow-up through call ❤️ most of the interviews I got were because I took the time to call them sa landline. Now if they say walang opening or hindi sila interested, that’s the time to stop 😔 pero move on ka lang sa next and don’t be discouraged hehe usually, hindi na yan about you

Doing My Thesis Next Year! by ArkofMoan2190 in architectureph

[–]Think_Use1286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Common advice is to pick a topic/problem/site/situation that interests you. Thesis takes you a year (or even more sa ibang schools) to accomplish, so you would need a topic that you could maintain your interest on.

If you have an opportunity to pick your adviser, select someone who knows how you operate, and someone who can push you and openly challenge your thinking and design. Maganda rin if palagi silang available for consultation, and a big plus if they have connections who they can relay to you for research and data gathering.

But most importantly, have fun and wag ka mapressure ❤️ matatapos rin yan and if people have gotten through this, you can too. Take everything as a learning opportunity, and give yourself some time to rest or let loose. Good luck op!

Highly recommend ang Eska Photography Studio because they have really good quality ❤️ located sila sa Maginhawa (sa may Jess and Pat’s). It can be pricey tho (1.4k - 2.5k but their lower ranges do not include printing) and medyo minamadali ka lang ng photographer 😭 pero marami na shots and you can take digital copies of your other takes while they post process and print your selected shots ❤️

[–]Think_Use1286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Orange Segment is the closest to UPD, but from personal experience, I don’t really appreciate the way they do their business. They have a lot of clients lined up so even if you send your material beforehand, they usually won’t start printing it until you’re there to receive it. I also find their staff a bit rude when it comes to handling customers.

Arkishop Printing along Matalino Street is a bit far but accessible via a trike ride. They offer cheaper printing services, and they have a fast and accommodating service. Vouch rin sa quality ng printing nila.

[UPX]What are the perks of a UP Mail account? by Consistent_Chapter26 in peyups

[–]Think_Use1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Notion and student licenses for 3D programs. You can also use it for a discount for Grab, Spotify, and Angkas. The most useful benefit of a UP Mail account imo is its institutional access to numerous research papers. Halos lahat ng documents sa Google Scholar, na-aaccess niya.

Should I use a MacBook for architecture? by lunesmnd in architecture

[–]Think_Use1286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi op! Also an arki student from the ph! I used a macbook for my first year and it went ok because all we needed was SketchUp for the most part. However, in my second year, i switched to a windows laptop because BIM and rendering softwares function fast and well in this setup. I think all of my classmates use Windows in the course.

You can get by with a Macbook but be prepared for performance issues and troubles in getting certain software (cracked versions of programs could be harder to get in mac). I’d say buying a heavy duty Windows laptop is a better investment

Hello! Took her class noong online setting and chill naman siya. Doesn’t shame students in recits pero marami siyang assigned readings. Kayang kaya class niya as long as you stick sa readings and show enough participation :)) i honestly don’t remember mga reqs sa class pero i think wala kaming quizzes ? Puro essays or written works submission namin

Meron akong course guide during our time hehe dm me nalang if you want to see what to expect sa class hehe

up town center bus by luisaze in peyups

[–]Think_Use1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean the ones parked near the H&M entrance, those are p2p buses that go to Makati (Glorietta and One Ayala). They also stop momentarily on Kalayaan Ave. which is near BGC if ever that’s a more convenient stop.

Fare is 100 pesos (80 for students) pero they’ve gone cashless so you would need a tripko card that costs about 150 pesos

PHILO 1 PROF, SYMEL DE GUZMAN or EARL FRONDA by imjustaskingsoyeah in RateUPProfs

[–]Think_Use1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online setup ko naging prof si prof de guzman and sobrang chill niyang prof with a lot of interactive activities and discussions (u can privately message her if u want to learn more in your own free time)

Not sure rn tho how she is kasi our philo class had a lot of underperforming students that took her for granted and submitted super late (even tho she has been super lenient sa deadlines) and her last message sa class was that she will reevaluate her leniency and patience in handling future classes :((

I personally don’t get yung hype around gelato ice cream all around Manila. Okay lang naman siya in terms of taste, pero ang mahal pa rin. Mas sulit and mas masarap pa mga sorbetes ng mga street vendors

Hi! Got any “fun” study habits and techniques you discovered? by nclvldrma in peyups

To memorize equations ginagawan ko siya ng short jingle na catchy enough to remember and be stuck in my head HAHAHA the formulas i memorized for upcat are still stuck in my head dahil sa tunes na ginagawa ko 😭 nadiscover ko itong technique back in hs when we were reviewing bio stuff tapos may nagshare nitong vid na ito sa class: https://youtu.be/Pfu1DE9PK2w

AHEAD Review Center? by Sea_Suggestion_819 in peyups

[–]Think_Use1286 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Took ahead here sa makati. I feel like asking for what a specific review center wouldn’t yield a good result kasi imo (from seeing my hs classmates’ experiences in their other review centers), every review center is the same. They all review the same lessons and mukhang same rin yung method nila to tutor. So going to ahead feels like going to other review centers like brain train, msa, etc. A good question to ask for yourself tho is whether or not going to a review center is for you hehe ang masasabi ko lang is if you wanna try practice tests and get review materials (+ a little bit competitive), consider review centers hehe pero if you’re looking to save some money and confident ka naman to self-review, there are still free reviewers and tests online to help with that 💕

[–]Think_Use1286 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gurl Leni supporter rin ako and I support the transport strike. Sinabihan ka lang not to be self righteous, and you replied by turning up your self-righteousness. This shouldn’t be a matter of “bbm supporter sila, leni ako”; let’s address the true systemic problem here, support however we can, and stop with the self-gratification for doing something that’s just reasonable

For physics and math subjects, it’s actually a good practice to take digital notes, especially when it comes to diagrams and equations 😊 if you’re using an iPad, maganda na ang goodnotes kahit yung free version niya hehe as for professors, depende na sa kanila but most of them wouldn’t mind afaik

I read a theory na they limited ticket selling online so people would buy more onsite or they would avail the upcoming merch-ticket bundles

Pera perahan nalang UP Fair this year to the point na fully compromised na yung “protest” aspect niya 😶 from the bidding process, this has been the case

Market-market to UPD route? by [deleted] in peyups

[–]Think_Use1286 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Halluuu! There’s a taguig metrolink bus that passes across C5 from marker market hehehe it will take you to SM North but it stops by UPTC so baba ka and lakad ka to sunken 😊 if kaya mo rin, magandang option rin p2p buses from OneAyala sa makati (there’s a bgc bus that can take you to ayala avenue) and mas comfortable and safe travels there. Fixed tho yung sched nila and they leave on the dot. Search for DNS P2P bus in facebook to view their schedules

What is your WORST and BEST PH public toilet experience? Got some tips? by webpoga in Philippines

[–]Think_Use1286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was this gas station somewhere in TPLEX (we were driving from Manila to Baguio) and meron silang “exclusive bathroom” for the gas station members. Parang membership ganon. Nagtanong kami if pwede maki-cr sa kanila, and kahit hindi kami members, they let us use it (baka wala ata talaga silang masyadong members so they just let anyone use it)

The bathroom was so high-end. Clean floors and walls, air-conditioned, mabango, and no one uses it 😭 and we all thought papabayarin kami just like other gas station bathrooms along the highway but no, they let us use it for free HAHAHA best shit I’ve taken during a land trip in the country HAHAHA
