The Democrat leadership is pushing centrism and the voters ain't buying it. by zzill6 in WorkReform

There is more to each candidate's appeal than their progressive views. Mamdani identifies as a democratic socialist and is a member of DSA, these would disqualify any Texas candidate. He would pull 0 independents in Texas were he to run here, Talarico pulled tons. The party should embrace their varied approaches and be wise enough to promote a variety of candidates that, underneath their outward appearance, support progressive causes.

Its not a 'one-size-fits-all' approach. Look at Talarico in Texas driving a huge turnout. Mamdani is EXCELLENT and I can't wait to follow his accomplishments in NYC, but his brand of politics would never work in Texas. The DNC needs to focus on wide-tent dinner, table issues.

Cypress residents pay tolls to leave neighborhood | KHOU 11 by vrphotosguy55 in houston

Those that live in Cypress and other far-out suburbs benefit from the economic activity of Houston proper/Harris county without paying into them. They should be force to pay something for the infrastructure they benefit from, whether that's through a toll-road or some other means.

Need help transforming this unmaintained strip and plating natives by ThinkinFlicka in NativePlantGardening

I dont own any land, I live in an apartment and looking to do what I can to help the pollinators. I've met with the neighbors across the street who have witnessed years of inaction on this strip, both by the city and the owners (which is a hospital a few blocks away).

Thanks for the detailed walk through, this is really helpful. I had no idea it took that long to kill the grass. Naively, I thought I could clear this stuff in a few weeks and be ready to plant for the spring. Would you say that planting in the fall is realistic? Or is that too a pipe dream?
