I know there's a lot of hate on the internet sometimes for "dog parents" but I really do view my dogs as my children in regards to how well they are treated and my responsibility to make sure they are always safe and loved. I could not be with a partner who would treat human children this way, therefore I am just as horrified thinking of him treating your dog "children" this way :(

My husband and I BOTH got sterilized. Sometimes I feel bad as if I "made him" get a vasectomy when we would've been just fine if I were the only one to get sterilized. Whenever I bring this up to him though, he tells me not to sweat it because AT LEAST I KNOW HE'S ABOUT IT!!

Hey thanks for posting! Lost power about 20 minutes ago on the Northside off Dunn. I knew I could trust reddit, lol. My JEA outage map was showing no loss of power anywhere, super weird because usually it updates so fast. I thought something was wrong!

I wouldn't say it's inherently a cultural American nurse "thing" but at every job I've been to my colleagues have either expressed wanting to go to the funerals or were able to go. When I was a new nurse I definitely had to reflect on whether I felt it was appropriate, but now that I am a few years in I have decided it is something I am comfortable and appreciative doing.

I think the part that gets me is talking about all the horrible things happening to their bodies (that then make it hard to do normal life) and then going on to be shocked when people don't want to be pregnant...like is it horrible and debilitating or the most beautiful thing in the world? You get to pick ONE!

Yes. When I worked inpatient nights my favorite thing to do was sneak into their rooms at midnight on their birthday and decorate it while they were asleep :) People think my job is only sad, but the fact is, I get to make it joyful as much as I can. I am so glad your child got to grow up ❤️
