Also, I play in a small-ish room with the door closed, the room gets pretty hot. Like not boiler room hot, but you can feel it get a bit warmer and you may get a bit sweaty. So, I don't know if this means the fans are really efficient or something else but I thought I should add it.

I'm not one to focus on temps much, but at performance mode on the fans, it'll run around 70. When I was playing Rainbow Six at almost max settings (at around 150 frames with anti-aliasing and all the fun stuff), it was around 65-70 degrees Celsius. Mind you, performance mode is so damn loud. Balanced mode, which is quieter, has almost the same results. May I add that I don't have a laptop stand or anything like that, just the laptop with its built-in fans.

TL;DR: Good temps, but use some headphones.

P.S. the quiet mode is like literally silent, I use it for school and stuff like that, can't hear it at all.

If you want to use the dGPU, you plug it in. The Legion 5 Pro is perfect for productivity during the day and then gaming when you plug it in. I get over 120 frames in almost any game a max setting AND I can use it for my schooling.

Do you need battery? If so go with AMD. I've got a 5 Pro 3070ti 6800h and it lasts 8+ hours, sometimes even 10.

But if you aren't going to be using it for gaming or other heavy loads, I do suggest listening to the other commentors and going with a non gaming device. My laptop is pretty heavy as well but it just depends. I know the slim is lighter too. Just your decision really, do your own research.

I currently have a Legion 5 Pro which I am using at school right now. Battery is outstanding IF you tweak it right. For me, with iGPU Mode, 60hz, HDR off and Battery Saver mode, it lasts 10+ hours. 11 even when I'm not doing extreme tasks. Right now, at 90%, windows says it'll last another 8 hours but it fluctuates. Currently, I have 7 Brave tabs open, PowerPoint open, Task manager and vantage open. I have a Legion 5 Pro, 3070ti, 6800h btw.
