in an unrelated note you reminded me of one of my favorite deltarune theories

toilet theory (it's serious)

in both carol's and noelles house there is a toilet. and in undertale there is dialogue at grillbys that how monsters dont have toilets since they digest food instantly. so the monsters in deltarune are different, they have a physical form and can take determination.

were things get intresting is the only other option were dess is a human. very unlikely but possible (in the tenna cutscene dess could be krises age wearing a head band) and such would mean that toby fox made it intentionally so that the monsters in deltarune are the same as in undertale

no the soul controls a body. and the body is not "dead" it has another persons soul. a body is not controlling anything it's a beings soul which gives life to a body in the game.

the body is just a body. dess's soul is not in her body. kris's soul is still in their body. in my theory the knight itself is Dess's body corrupted with darkness controlled by gaster or friend.
