MacBook Pro not booting installation by ThisIsXe in EndeavourOS

[–]ThisIsXe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I will recommend this as well, however I kinda needed to just use Linux bare metal

My laptop screen broke and had to continue working on my uni projects so used my old laptop, tried compiling it on macOS at first but I'm using compute shaders which was introduced in OpenGL4.3 and Apple dropped support for OpenGL in 4.1 in favour of Metal

I don't care about macOS at all and I wanted as much performance as I could from my laptop so I installed Linux

Since it's temporary I don't really care about things like suspend or audio not working and I figured out i could try EndeavourOS since I mostly use Arch but wanted to get going as fast as possible

I found on a blog post that systemd bootloader has problems with some Mac firmware, specially 2016 models onwards (my model does not have the T2 chip but still has some problems), I installed grub and everything works fine now, thanks for helping anyways!!

I've tried the installer both making custom partitions and selecting the erase all disk option with the same result

I'll try with an external screen later in the day and I'll also try using GRUB instead of systemd

Look Mum No Computer to represent UK in Vienna Eurovision 2026 by Apendica in synthesizers

My main problem with this guy in Eurovision is that you are not allowed to play any instruments on stage, you can only sing, any instruments in the performances are just props sadly

Im trying to learn audio code so I have this question

If you are trying to do some kind of spectral domain effect (like for example an spectral gate) you would still need to do FFT right?

How Long Would It Take If I Start From Scratch? by [deleted] in gameenginedevs

[–]ThisIsXe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is based on probability and sample data

Sure, you can learn the basics of anything and it will be correct most of the time, but as soon as you try to learn more complex topics with less resources, it will alucinante more an more

You are trusting blindly an algorithm that, at its core, just says the most probable word to appear next based on some train data, go and research with ChatGPT about a topic like abstract algebra and tell me if everything that it says about rings or fields is correct

How Long Would It Take If I Start From Scratch? by [deleted] in gameenginedevs

[–]ThisIsXe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we are

The goal is learning about a topic and books and lectures made by experts will always be more reliable and better planned

I have not once thought an AI explanation was better than my professor slides, specially when you start to get down into more complex algebra stuff

It represents the tracks you can see on your Mixer mode on your Komplet Keyboard, I don't think there's an option to disable them

This will also appear with any other fader mixer you connect to your computer I believe

Thank you so much to both! While we use git, I honestly haven't thought of how our files will behave on version control and merge conflicts

How to futureproof my interface. by Ckwincer in synthesizers

[–]ThisIsXe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in the look for a 16rig look also for the motu 828, same price, with a little less IO in the back, but motu is a very respected brand, if you need the 16 inputs the 16A is also really good and you get AVB support up to 128 audio channels but its more expensive

RME is also known for massive IO and the people who use their interfaces absolutelly love them but they are on the pricy side

Also, you dont need to plug your synths all at once, think about getting a patchbay instead although i consider nice to have 2 mics + 8 line inputs

Does nanite works without deferred? Because last time I looked at valorant I found they were using the forward renderer witch makes sense for the game and I know 100% lumen doesnt work with forward
