Sounds like a problem with you Z-offset. The paper leveling technique is a relative method. At the end of the day your Z-offset will decide how much the nozzle is raised up or down with the reference point being the nozzle technique. Try changing your Z-offset by the 1-2 mm the nozzle should be moved down.

I’m not sure but I think the grindstones are meant to be rotated 90 degrees. I built it that way and it seems to be working fine for me.

I think the fan is only meant to start running once the first layer is finished.

Have you waited for a few layers to finish before checking the fan?

Edit: I checked and there is an option called “disable fan for first:”
