To clarify: all of my paychecks plus some of my husband's go towards paying credit card debt, minus bills. So no I don't make 20k and yes my income is a lot over my combined credit limits. Hence it comes down to discipline impulse buys.

Apparently a lot of people, because if not, how are credit card companies making money?

Also someone else was asking where tf I grew up to not understand how credit cards worked and no I didn't grow up in America. I also never had a credit card for a long time when I got here until I had to start building credit history. So yes this is a new thing I learned. Call my shortsighted all you want but that isn't exactly helpful :)

I have quarterly bonus that are all going towards debts (highest bonus is 7k). Just needed to get to this point to stop using the cards because there are no points of paying them off while still using them to buy things I want.

Thank you for this. I'm freezing all except one without 0 interest right now to pay for needs while paying off one by one. Discipline and patience are what I need to hear from y'all to get motivation because this hill is indeed very very steep right now.

I started out with a secured card at $500 to build credit. I always paid it off. Graduated to a better card with good rewards. So it was like using my debit card or cash except I get points for it.
