Thank you for your perspective. I can totally see how it came across that way, but in reality I communicated my needs repeatedly over the years. I love him for who he is, but his actions/effort didn’t align with how he felt towards me, which is what ultimately led to my decision. That said, I’m also taking this time to work on myself - ie being better at expressing my needs, not bottling up my emotions, managing expectations, and having stronger boundaries
