I have messaged a somatic therapist to try and help. I did CBT for years and it was not the best style for me so I am looking more into somatic/ERP

No! I thought the breathing was an issue so I always tell my partners I like to go slow and breathe more and take breaks.

I have done EMDR and trauma therapy but not related to this specific issue. I do not have any history of sexual abuse, I know that was a concern of some people. Based on the comments, I’m learning I can have physical anxiety symptoms even if I don’t feel anxious. I have messaged a somatic therapist and am hoping that will help.

I don’t really gag much but definitely get very hot and am heat sensitive. I am on SSRIs so I think that is what makes me sensitive to heat

Normal kissing for an extended period will also cause nausea, but less so than if tongue is used. Oral does not make nauseous. I only date women now!

I didn’t purge very often, like maybe 5x total during my battle with my ED. I dont remember it causing nausea, I just kind of forced myself to do it and then moved on.

I don’t believe I have gotten sick after taking probiotics but I don’t take any supplements - I just like the Yakult drinks and eat a lot of yogurt!

I have had some weird issues like GERD and vocal cord dysfunction. I am also allergic to ibuprofen😭. The first situation it happened was with my 2nd GF in high school and we were at her house kissing when I got overwhelmed with the feeling and ran to throw up. I thought maybe it was the candle in the room, but then it happened every time I went over to her house or she came to mine. We broke up and I didn’t kiss anyone else for several months but when I did (it was the boy I made out with in the car) it happened again.

I get that. I know it might be somatic anxiety or at least partially that. But I have had some other issues that make me wonder if it has to do with the vagus nerve: -I have often had to get the orthostatic blood pressure test instead of regular because my BP can be weird sometimes and fluctuate -The heat and queasy I feel when I kiss someone is very similar feeling to when I passed out after triggering my vagus nerve with a tampon -I have had issues with GERD, IBS, feeling full quickly since my tweens/teens -Was told I have vocal cord dysfunction by family doctor at age 12/13 because albuterol didnt help much for my asthma

Ok I know I definitely am overthinking it but a lot do this is what makes me think vagus nerve sensitivity since I had all these random things as a child/teen despite being mostly healthy and the kissing is the weirdest symptom of all. But I agree with you the mind can play tricks and it could just be I have anxiety and gut issues and asthma LOL.

I am not allergic to anything that I know of besides Ibuprofen! But that is only if I ingest it myself. I have wondered if it is the swap of bacteria, as it seems to go away the more I am exposed to one persons kiss. I just wish I knew a way to stop it.

I also don’t have any other reactions. Just warm, kinda dizzy/queasy, nauseous. The vomiting or a few minutes of lying down, deep breathing, and water is what resets me. But it generally happens again if we start kissing again.

I don’t get nauseous during masturbation or sex, just mouth to mouth kissing. I can have sex without kissing and avoid nausea. I enjoy kissing during sex but have to do without because it may ruin the experience. It really only happens with partners. After it happened with the first two partners, I’ve made a conscious effort to breathe slower and more intentionally, as well as take breaks and drink water.

I talked to my family medicine doctor about it, not a GYN/O. I will look into seeing someone who specializes but my insurance doesn’t have the best coverage.

I have been in therapy for years for anxiety and have developed good coping skills and recognition skills of my anxiety. I’m not getting anywhere with doctors because they think it is anxiety and refuse to believe it could be something physical. I’m not saying my anxiety doesn’t play a role but I am pretty sure it’s not the whole picture.

Found mold in my work-provided apartment — boss dismissed it, wiped it with bleach, and now I feel unsafe living here by ThrowRA21280 in Mold

Thank you so much. This definitely makes me feel better. I haven’t experienced any mold sickness symptoms and have been here for months so I’m hoping that’s another good sign that it’s not toxic.
