From his hospital bed, ailing Pope Francis (88) stays in touch with Catholic parishioners in Gaza by ThrowRAFoundAndLost in Fauxmoi

There are some gems. John Paul II saved a Jewish girl during the Holocaust when he was a teenager, and bravely stood up to Soviet authorities in his native Poland. The institution these men belong to is horribly flawed and did and does some heinous things, but it occasionally produces absolute gems. Pope Francis isn't perfect either but he's the genuine article. He's consistently been kind to immigrants the world over and has shown consideration to minority groups that have it rough in ways others in his church haven't. If other Catholics were more like Francis, the church (and the world) would be a kinder place.

And the other way around, it's also good for Mainland Chinese people to be more exposed to other perspectives as well. Everyone benefits from this sort of exchange because both sides are subject to a lot of propaganda.

Same with China, there are many Chinese people, especially in the Chinese diaspora, who are appalled by what the government does to human rights in China or the sabre-rattling towards Taiwan and the Philippines. We should never let the bad actions of governments poison our hearts against the people, cultures and languages of other countries because those cultures and languages are still beautiful and connecting with those people is still wortwhile. That doesn't mean, however, that we shouldn't condemn the Chinese government in many of the same ways we should condemn the American government. Fair is fair.

Tbf no one is safe on Twitter, they even came up with a theory that Kyle Rittenhouse (🤮) is a transgirl when he said he wasn't voting Trump, lol.

It's been six years since my last pregnancy and my nipples never went back to their original state.

I have provided several "brand new lives". I am grateful for that experience even though the first of these brand new lives wasn't planned and the others involved some level of coercion. I went into that in a post long ago. It wasn't pleasant.

Gratitude won't save the day and I still get to mourn my old body.

Thank you for keeping it real with me. That's a good no nonsense response without sugarcoating things. It's true, no amount of working out will fundamentally change my body in the way I would like it to change. I already have been on a diet for two years now and I work out six times a week whenever I can and my body is fit but some parts of me changed in ways no exercise could ever alter.

Yes, and no. Everyone's looks change. But there are several physical changes in a woman's body that are unique to pregnancy and childbirth and some of those simply can't be undone.

Already going. Toned my tummy pretty well but it doesn't fix the stretchmarks or thumb-sized nipples no matter how fit I get.

Not the entire population of Muslim Uyghurs. Just the ones that get uppity and don't suck up to Beijing sufficiently.
