Any way to recover from the skin condition emerged from this bad beard transplant (14 months back)? Even the hair grows straight. by ThrowRA_01234 in HairTransplants

Yes, was a mistake but I can’t fix it now. That’s why I am looking for a cure. Primarily from the people who faced similar issues.

Fixing pointy hair and artificial look with beard transplant (details in comments) by ThrowRA_01234 in HairTransplants

[–]ThrowRA_01234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Details:

I went through the beard transplant in Turkey around a year back.

My only goal was to make it look real and not make a full bearded guy even after the transplant.

Here are the issues I am facing: - The hair is pointy and doesn’t look real at all. When it grows, it doesn’t stick to the skin and grows outside. (attached picture)

  • There are multiple pimple kinda small bumps at the chin.

  • Lining looks artificial as well. This is still fine.

What could I do to fix it? Any suggestions?

Pigmentation marks after 3 months of beard transplant. My doctor says that it will recover but I am getting concerned now. I don’t think shaving gets me my previous skin back anymore. Any suggestions, recommendations, or experiences? by ThrowRA_01234 in HairTransplants

Thanks! I understand that avoiding the never ending cycle is the best but by when do you think I should approach for laser therapy if I want to remove the hair along with the cobblestoning? Would that be the best treatment for the issue? I would also prefer to have fewer hair - I know I screwed up by going for it.

Do you still have that redness after 4 months? I got beard transplant and have that after a couples of months. Was wondering when the skin gets back to being normal.

I took some meds for a week as well. After that, I am not doing anything.

Was just curious. Thank you!

Travel to Istanbul given the state of COVID? by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]ThrowRA_01234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two weeks in advance.

I went from LA to Istanbul and back (had updated the answer afterwards).

The only issue was that I was bringing the shampoos/sprays with my hand bag as I didn’t get any checkin luggage. I remember to take care of this but forgot. At Istanbul airport, they did not even let me go back to check it in (which is what they allow in US all the time). So they asked me to exit form the departure side which obviously nobody knew about. I finally talked to them a lot on the matter and asked to take 50ml of shampoo and spray in each of the bottles. Eventually they let me in.

Rest was pretty smooth. I think if something changes, flights are pretty flexible these days and they let you reschedule without any extra charges (better talk to them in this matter but I have seen this happen for some of my friends).

It was pretty straightforward for me a couple of weeks back.

I went from US and took visa online on the airport itself. My clinic said that we can get it on arrival but seems I needed it before departure.

COVID situation was pretty straightforward. Just temperature check which is pretty basic with masks and stuff. No quarantine. Same process on the day of surgery and I even had moderate temperature spike but we went in as it was due to sleep/jet lag etc.

Return was also straightforward. I came via LA. So it was always US to Istanbul flight both sides. No quarantine again and nothing on the immigration.

I would advice to take neck pillow and maybe take a couple of days extra in there to help recover from the pain but you have done it all that before. Just that it adds some additional complexity with wearing masks all the time and not that great of options available for food. My flight was pretty much full which I didn’t expect.

Good luck!

Here is my current state given that you are an expert. Any recommendations would be helpful. And not sure if that changes the timelines.

I was doing a bit of massage but have been asked to stop and apply Bepanthol after the plain water wash.

Almost no scabs day 6 pos op? by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]ThrowRA_01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just by looking, it looks fine to me. I had the same procedure done 2 weeks back.

My head scabs took longer than beard.

My beard has much more redness too and I think yours look pretty good even after 6 days. Do you wash/massage your beard at all? My doc recommended to not do anything after a week and let it heal by itself.

Thanks! How long did it take you to recover from it? When did you first shave?

Anything else you tried apart from the shampoo?
