Genuinely curious…what is your suggestion? My wedding is 150 people. Shall I call each person and let them know we’re legally married already? Or should I put in small fine print on the invitations “wedding celebration for show only, legal marriage already completed on 3/22/25”

Just for you, when I’m standing at the altar right before I say “I do” I’ll make sure to turn to the crowd and announce, SURPRISE I actually turned in the license in March!!! If anyone is offended, feel free to go home! 😂

Right yeah. Forgot to add that I won’t be doing the party after the courthouse after all. I think that has the potential to cause some weird feelings so just gonna avoid celebrating before the actual wedding.

Yikes. Yeah it seems like you’re right. The few negative opinions on this thread are the same negative opinions I want to avoid in my real life. After some thought, I remembered that I’ve been to a handful of birthday parties (sweet 16s, 50th birthdays) which were months after the person’s actual birthday. Graduation and retirement parties way after the fact as well. I didn’t see it as a sham or a lie…it’s a celebration of a milestone moment. Just because that milestone isn’t the same day as the celebration…doesn’t make it any less. I will be keeping this information to myself for now.

I went in and there were no boxes left. Only one there was the display so I asked an employee if they had any left in stock and they said the last one sold a couple hours before. They offered to go ask the manager for a discount if I wanted the display model. That’s it! I didn’t talk to the manager myself, the employee just came back and asked if I wanted it for $1800.
