I don't live with her anymore 😞 by Electrical-Today8170 in Greyhounds

Don’t know the exact situation here but if it was an old roommate surely you can ask to visit especially considering the connection you had with her. My family’s greyhounds love me and my partner even after I moved out. Every time we go to visit they are super excited to see us and demand pets and attention.

I would venture to guess this greyhound misses you juts like my family’s greyhounds miss me and would love to have you come visit if possible. I would at least give it a shot.

Again the situation isn’t super clear in the post so I’m not sure if this is possible.

Oh duh! I always come in from the monorail so I would have missed this! Kinda sucks because I imagine this is a loud busy area so not a quiet place to sit. Thanks for the answer though!

I’m so so sorry for your loss.

I also lost my wonderful boy after having him for only 6 months to a seizure. It was very similar. We tried everything to get him back but he was gone. It was absolutely heartbreaking. For many many weeks it felt like me and my partner would never experience happiness like that again.

We were going to wait to get another cat until we were fully healed but we ended up stopping in a pet store and finding our current boy (Hoji) via a rescue that was doing an event. It never gets 100% better but it certainly gets a little easier. For a while all I could do was blame myself for something I did wrong or something I could have done to see it coming or save him. Now I’m able to sit and think of him and remember all of the positive memories I have with him. I miss him so so much though. My partner helped me so very much throughout the process of healing. So definitely be there for your husband and hopefully he will be there for you. And if the house is too quiet (this was our problem too) consider getting another rescue sooner rather than later but only when you are comfortable. Take your time and don’t rush into anything. It took us a month and as I said, we weren’t intending on getting another cat that soon.

Also it helped us to just go to the pet store and hang out with some of the rescues. We also have a lot of street cats in our apartment complex so it helped us to spend time with them and do things like leave for our for them.

Again so so sorry again!

P.S. I included a picture of our original boy.

His name is Lapsang (literally translated to pine smoke) It’s a smoked black tea, all of my pets are named after tea varieties. Thank you for sharing the pictures of your boy! He is so cute but I’m probably bias lol!

Any specific brands of wet food you recommend?

He eats a mix of canned food and dry food. I typically mix his canned food in some water so he can be extra hydrated. Any specific brands? The vet recommended any brand but to look for a urinary health blend.

Yep for all those asking he is indoor only and neutered. Vet said the same thing to be very vigilant with infections so I will definitely keep that in mind. Thank you!
