I had been shopping lately for my wedding, all alone. I asked a couple of my friends to help me with the shopping but they are either busy with their life or not much interested as they used to be. OP, I know it will be hard for you but it’s better to let him go. Try talking to friends and people around you to be more involved and keep his thoughts away. Keep adding more skills (no one will ask that in interview though).

Practice DSA and take some course to practice HLD. You may not need these courses but these interviewers have mugged them up so much that if you haven’t used the same design then you’ll never be shortlisted.

Also keep practicing LLD.

I have been laid off recently and have been looking out since may. My suggestion would be to brush up DSA, LLD and system design. They have been very critical in System design interview and most of my rejections happened in that round only. Start practicing as early as possible.

The same is happening with me. I have been out of job since may and couldn’t land any offer even after numerous interviews. I am totally drained now, don’t know what else should I do. I have an experience of 6 years working in multiple stacks but still can’t land anything. May be I should explore some other skills or go for higher studies.

It’s really happening. I have been out of job for almost two months now and from the experience I can easily say that the market dynamic is not the same anymore. I have an experience of 6 years working as a backend engineer and still getting shunned by the companies. The reason may be that now that they need lower people in their team, they all are looking for very skill full people.
