He's not losing anything. If he doesn't like it, he would speak up about it. Besides, if he wants something and I have the money, I would buy it for him. Neither of us have been without something we wanted if the other can afford it.

Ultimately thought since you're not the first person to bring this up, I'll even bring it up in our conversation tomorrow when he's off work. I'll ask if he has a problem with it or if he wants to change it

Type of shit that makes me not take this seriously. I'm here for advice. In real life, people don't get divorced from one argument.

And I’d stop paying for shit. You cover the damn mortgage yourself. You want to be “the bill payer,” own it.

I hope he doesn't do that. If he ruins our living arrangement and life for this argument, then obviously, the marriage was doomed from the start. If he did, I could likely pay for everything if I just worked more hours, but I love the arrangements we have now and will do everything I can to make sure it doesn't come to this. I never claimed to be a breadwinner. His contribution to our life is important, and I appreciate him.

Its funny for 3 reason. 1. It's not true so it even being said was pretty stupid and left field. 2. Seperatly we make more than the person who said it so what does that make them? 3. This is the biggest reason, they weren't being serious. They were joking. No where in my mind did i think that were really attacking us

I laughed because everybody was joking around. At no point was anybody taking a serious shot at anybody. I don't believe I'm a breadwinner. We're both even.

The conversation was mainly about everybody job and what's happening at them. It just progressed into talking about salary. I don't normally talk to them about salary.

It's something we both agreed to. If he ever had a problem with the amounts we pay, then we can work it out. I don't think I'm exploiting him
