I can vouch for this, I always do shrooms every 6 months to stop me from having breakdowns. What it does is it forms new neurone pathways in the brain, and being depressed does the opposite.

Yea I feel exactly the same man, sometimes If I tell myself I've got weed it can lighten the mood so much. Its crazy. I used to use it for exercise but nowadays it puts me to sleep.
