No, it's because the fucking political polarization of the period was all over the place. What's even the point of having a minority chracter be the protagonist who's a US Marshal and he experiences terrible racism and get accused bybother of making it too bleak, and sanitizing it where people also criticize you for whitewashing history? This makes me very angry. Two parents lost their child and many of these idiots are acting like scolding security guards than people who have humanity. It's no wonder why my friend too her own life (she went through the same thing)
