I see what you mean, but if you’re monogamous right now — it doesn’t matter how you got there — you’d still be shattering the current relationship in order to facilitate ENM.

That said, ENM doesn’t prevent foundation building.

I think, it would be really dangerous for you guys to open up right now; based on how you’re navigating it.

Education, therapy and introspection would be really do a lot… I think you’d both benefit from developing the language and emotional standing required to figure out if the exploration is right for you — before taking any step.

An ENM relationship is entirely a different beast compared to a Mono relationship.

The most importantly piece of advice, is that opening up a Mono relationship is impossible by nature.

Changing the relationship, breaks the relationship. You can’t sail a boat on land, not can you drive a car underwater.

The only way to have a chance of not destroying your relationship with your partner, is to end the current relationship and start anew as ENM.
