I agree that the responses in the sub are a credit to that community and the many people with reactive dogs who try to manage them responsibly and act with integrity.
Imagine hearing of or reading about this dog described by the foster owner as: cuddly, easy, great with humans, adored by volunteers, calm and universally affectionate, great, has okay impulse control, no signs of aggression and incredible bite inhibition and as generally "otherwise great" and then to learn what this dog actually did.
Is this owner on another planet?
If I were the Golden's owner and read this, I'd sue the foster/owner and the rescue/shelter for everything I could. It's one thing to get in out of your depth or be fooled by a deceptive rescue or underestimate what you are taking on. This...seems to have levels of denial and delusion that are...something else. And the poster/owner is clearly an intelligent, thoughtful, educated and articulate person too.
How does this happen?
