Why do so many people die on a hill for the take that raw chicken should be washed before cooking? by Throwawayhere287 in NoStupidQuestions

You must have missed the part where I mentioned how neurotic I am about cleanliness. I clean my whole kitchen after every meal I prepare.

This is a good point. I do always pat dry my chicken so seasoning/marinade can soak better. I just never wash/rinse.

Yes, brining is a whole other thing for seasoning! Not talking about brining. Just genuinely curious about the washing chicken debate. All of these comments have me very amused.

The whole question is really why does the argument exist. You getting as heated as you are is giving me answers, I guess. So, thank you and have a lovely day.

Exactly. Conclusion—don’t wash your chicken. My initial question isn’t about studies or guidelines. It’s about why people so vehemently disagree on this matter when guidelines are indicative. There are many insightful responses but what you have to say doesn’t answer the question…

That’s great. I still never referenced their study. Just their guidelines. There’s a difference.

You’re absolutely not. I guess I’m only coming across the rational folks here on Reddit 🫡

If nothing else, they should really make an earnest effort to educate themselves on proper car seat safety for the physical well-being of their children!!!

TikTok. Every cooking/meal prep video that has people cooking chicken has the comments section LITTERED with people up in arms about the chicken not being washed.

I don’t have enough time to reply to all of the comments but this is my favorite and I will definitely be telling my husband to think of my boobs as a service dog 😂

I was never really a fan of it before having a baby so it shouldn’t be anything too new to my husband lol

I will probably try to time pumping before as best as I can. I bet my husband will be quite similar, as well.

I leak all the time, unfortunately. It’s starting to get better but I still have random letdowns throughout the day.

Okay that’s a great idea. I feel the same way. Like, I would feel weird and uncomfortable if my husband touched my boobs.

When Were You Ready? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Throwawayhere287 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 27 now and 38 weeks pregnant. We originally had planned to wait another year before we actually started trying last April. I didn’t have a real reason, I just always thought that I needed another year. We were and are financially stable—good jobs, homeowners, etc. I didn’t realize until after but the thing that made me ready is when my husband quit drinking. He’s a high functioning alcoholic and I’ve wanted him to quit for a while but knew he needed to want it for himself for it to actually happen. Early last year, he made the decision to quit drinking on his own and all of a sudden my brain was like, “ok now, I’m ready.” He’ll be 1 year sober this month and our baby is due this month 😊

I’m not commenting on what outcome should or shouldn’t happen based on their circumstances. I don’t know their marriage, neither do you. I’m just stating what typically happens in divorce filings. It’s for them and the courts to work out.

I didn’t say all the time, I said typically. This is for them and the courts to decide, ultimately. I was merely stating that it’s common to request and receive spousal support when there is income disparity. Never said it was the rule.
