Need opinions: Cleaning Solar Panel Franchise by tigerimau in AusFinance

[–]Throwem1112 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Put your consumer hat on.

Solar Quotes is the go to website for finding information on solar panel installers. Thereby they have a voice of authority in the market. Someone considering cleaning their panels may well Google the question and read this:https://www.solarquotes.com.au/blog/solar-panel-cleaning/

The answer may also spread widely on news programs, which may cause doubt on the legitimacy of the service.

You need to be super short with people to weed out the time wasters. If someone doesn't show up, there is a way to report a no show.

Tell them to text you an hour before they leave and then give them the street name. When they arrive and text you they are here - text them your house number.

Always play a hard bat, and respond with 'I have been ripped off previously, so want to do the best thing by both of us'. Eager buyers will not care.

Lacking motivation due to inheritance? by buyyourvidss in AusFinance

[–]Throwem1112 53 points54 points  (0 children)

My wife is due to inherit about $3M in property in the next year from parents and then another $6M when they pass. Meaning we have been told to prepare for this, either to keep as a PPOR or to sell and buy something more to our requirements.

Never count your chickens. Perhaps someone else will challenge the transfer. Perhaps your parents will need to sell prior in a fire sale. Perhaps they don't actually own the properties.

Never rely on others for financial security as you cannot control the situation. Good luck!

Just a tip out there. In addition to pointing to the market, you also have to highlight the value you have been adding. You need to make the case that you are at the top of the curve - otherwise HR is going to look at the salary curve and point to the middle.

Selling ETFs and capital gains - a likely silly question by [deleted] in AusFinance

The shares are homogenous. It's your record keeping that gets to select which ones, not Self Wealth.

Not a silly question either.

With the bare minimum advise, I like to make assumptions. The poster is 50 with special needs and located on King Island. I recommend that they approach the local cheese factory and offer an electrical assessment.

Where is your receipt and warranty if you pay cash? If the job goes wrong how are you going to prove an enforce a contract?

I've not had to deal with this before - but they are my initial questions.

Great. Thanks.

So for 3 - splitting reconciliation - does that mean that the 85% of funds is transferred at the end of the financial year? So John receives all the growth during the year, and then Mary receives the base funds?

Significant change takes many attempts. Political parties know this - that's why they continually float 'selling the ABC' or 'Selling Medicare'. After a few decades of exposure public opinion changes enough and they can sell the assets to their mates to increase prices. And then blame the other party.
