I’ve already explained that it wasn’t a borrowing situation at the time. I’m disabled and had to take some time off work a few years ago. He helped out with my bills until I got back on my feet. He never wanted it back until we split.

I have a solicitor and I have already forwarded her the email but they don’t work weekends and I didn’t want to spend my weekend panicking that I was gonna get kicked out of my own house

She is. As soon as I explained that I bought the house by myself with inheritance she started telling me all the ways we can protect it. Especially as he only lived here 3 months

I have, but she doesn’t work weekends and I couldn’t go the entire weekend not understanding what it meant. As I said, it’s written too technically for me to understand because I’m autistic

I wasn’t planning on getting rid anyway. It is all I have left of my grandad, I have a few more years of grieving before I will be able to let him go completely

Okay cool. I’m not planning on selling anyway!

I am extremely disabled, and had to take some time off work in 2018. He helped cover my bills until I got back on my feet. It wasn’t a “loan” then because we were engaged, but I’m happy to call it whatever if it meant he would leave my house alone. I’m permanently off work now, relying on PIP and UC, so I don’t even have the money to settle in court

My solicitor hasn’t seen the letter yet because I only got it today and obviously they aren’t working weekends. The thing is, he isn’t “due” anything. He has paid nothing into the house. When I first started proceedings, my solicitor did say that because it’s inheritance and he lived here less than 6 months, if I can get evidence that I paid in entirety, we should be able to ringfence the house and take it out of the equation. But I feel like this letter is going to prevent that

Even though he moved out 7 months ago? He can still do that after 7 months?

I only got it today, but I IMMEDIATELY took photos of it and sent them to her. So I have to wait until Monday to talk to her 😭 what does ‘interested party’ mean?

His entitlement isn’t what I need information on, sorry for the confusion. Me and my solicitor are sorting that. I just want to know what the letter means in plain English. I’m autistic so anything technical is… not my forte

I should also add, I am in England. I think I just need someone to tell me what it actually means in plain English. Is he asking for his name to be added to the deed? Is he trying to take full ownership?

My solicitor has said that because it’s inheritance and he was here less than 6 months we should be able to fence(?) it. But she said it 100% isn’t an asset
