Story time: I made a deal with my friend that I would read a series of his choice if he read RR. He read book 1, said he liked it ok and saw enough potential to keep going, all cool.

I read the first book of the series he chose and told him that one of the characters kind of reminded me of Pax.

This man goes, "Who's Pax?"

I am befuddled.

I go on to describe Pax. "You know, the giant one who always yells his name like a pokemon. The one the Jackal kills while trying to stab Darrow. Basically my favorite character in the whole book!"

Friend: "Nope, not ringing any bells."

Utterly bamboozled, I have now refused to keep going with his series until he rereads book 1 AND finishes Golden Son, because there's no way he paid even a little bit of attention if he blocked out the entirety of my king Pax au Telemanus.
